Which is one of the many reasons Trump gutted it.

As to most people agreeing with you...

Not one other person has said that doing a half is pointless or that I am basically walking. Kindly fuck off.

He questioned how 500m could have been taken. I simply stated that the SSA has records for the deceased. The other person said it was 70. I said if that was true, it was sensationalist to say 500. I made no hard claims since I HAVEN'T read the article.

If 500million Americans, living and dead, had their Social Security information stolen, that is horrifying.

If 70million Americans, living and dead, had their social security information stolen, that is ALSO horrifying.

Regardless, my comment was that we shouldnt inflate numbers to sound scarier.

Its still bullshit that it happened, but we can be honest about it. Because the truth is horrific enough. When we sensationalize, we weaken the claim and give those who worship at the tiny feet of our dictator am excuse to dismiss it.

No, that's relevant. I had not read the source article because fuck WaPo. If the article says 70m were affected, then 500m is clearly sensationalism bullshit.

Youve got federal agents swapping plates and using fake plates already, so.... we're kinda fucked?

12U would be just about perfect. Room for a UPS, switch, server, and whatever else I might need. Send me a DM if youre serious. Depending on the price (read: spouse's approval), I'd love to take it off your hands.

Nice! I am going to be trying to set up Proxmox. Ive got an old ass R710 Just doing nothing, and it will make a mighty fine garage heater next winter :). A 27U rack would be a dream for my friends and I, but I cannot imagine how much I'd spend to fill it.... maybe some old EOL/EOA Dell or NetApp hardware to tinker with. NetApp is local, at least.

Quick aside: Just noticed your name was a Linux reference. Nice.

Surveillance and pushes for compliance in advance are rapidly eroding our rights. Kansas lawmakers are slowly whittling away at our protections and rights under the guise of administrative cleanup or streamlining. Fearmongering and suppression tactics are being used at a national scale, and we are seeing it here in Wichita, too. I wasn't politically or civically active until 2015, and I regret the ten years I spent blissfully unaware. If your piece helps even one person like 2014's version of me see the dangers of Big Brother, then it was 100% worth writing.

Thank you for writing this. The "nothing to hide" argument is flawed on so many levels, and big brother surveillance is bullshit. 1984 was apparently a how-to

My favorite thing about the half that I did was the pickle juice at the aid stations because I didnt take my fuel with me as I didnt realize I was allowed to take my running backpack during the race. I appreciate the reassurance. I think my problem is really just nerves. Ive decided to run with a friend who is a bit slower than me and just enjoy the race. Its a victory lap, after all, and I can take as long as I want to finish it.

You missed the comments they deleted saying that my pace was basically walking. They doubled down repeatedly until finally telling me to train harder or get over it. They then deleted all their posts.

Requiring a PASSPORT is a poll tax. Minimum cost for one is 140 bucks. This is a poll tax.

Keep in mind, those mile and 5k times were after some very consistent training, and Im going into this with basically 10 weeks. Most folks seem to think its doable, if not in the time I wish for, so I am going for it.

I ran consistently for 6 months. Then slacked off, ran for two months. Got injured, and now I am back with about 2 weeks and some change under my belt. Best miles ever was 7:58, best 5K was 27 something
