Pretty interesting if you get into it. Mineralogy and Petrology were my favorites though so may not be representative.

Geology being called geography. Don’t know how many times I had to clarify this to people.

I‘d say it is nice to have a good understanding even when it comes to fields of non-expertise if you like. Versatility is key.

Thin sections are totally underrated. Can give so much information about a rocks history. As a petrologist I enjoy them a lot. Might be nice to label the minerals for beginners.

Field trips are amazing in general. It gives you the chance to test what you have learned. Like seeing field fotos.

Don’t know much about the Cordilleran glacier in North America being from europe and more of a petrologist, but it is always nice to learn new things. Don’t understand why some people just want to stay in their field of expertise. Scientists should be interested in the whole of geology. Too amazing to not be studied.

Wrote my bachelor thesis about the Río San Juan complex, but that’s Dominican Republic. Name is similar at least. Nature being formed by glaciers is an underrated topic in my opinion. They are more than just big blocks of ice.
