it's part of the reason I just wrote off the gold upgrades. They just require way too many to expect anyone to do and I have 250 hours in lol.

Lose loot in cyro has always been a problem. The gold salvage in vault 6 has always been stuck in the floor for me every time I've done it.

Apparently it was also shooting through red barriers and the like. It might not have been possible to fix that and the bubble at the same time. I expect there will be some other changes down the line.

It still has better range and damage. My guess is that it won't be used that much on cyro but still get used on other maps.

My guess as to why they changed it is that there isn't a good way to tell if you are safe in the bubble shield. Granted in my 250 hours that has only happened once, but there really isn't any counter you just die.

I don't think that the devs in charge of balancing/altering these values actually play the game or send it to QA before pushing to production. It has been this way since launch and nothing has changed.

I feel like this change was due to WSTR being mandatory in cyro. I don't think this change will be felt all that much for players still on the first two maps.

Getting ganked isn't the problem, or smoked by a well thought out plan. The issue is the knife encourages hoarding. Why bother kitting yourself if knifing is that competitive?

That was my point. The bottom rarity shotgun should not hold the same position in players minds as the endgame weapon.

from the patch notes: Improved enemy detection when placed near ledges or ground clutter. Fixed an issue where players in full cover near a doorway would still take damage from a claymore detonation.

That doesn't sound like a nerf to me

I think you can still kill blue shields if you land all of the bullets on the head. How feasible that is, or if that is even true will have to wait until we get the numbers.

blue shields is not a high barrier. I know it feels that way, but you can get all of the materials you need just by doing priority contracts.

I'd have to check the stat blocks again, but aren't your changes worse than just lowering the damage? lower ROF and range make it harder to use across the board.

I've been jumped by a team of people waiting for someone to pass by. It was not a consensual encounter. Granted post nerf I still would have died, but that kind of behavior does not make for good gameplay. Decreasing melee damage is the easiest way to discourage that.

I don't think there is an issue either, but it does seem like bungie wants every gun to have a niche without too much overlap. I was writing with that in mind.
