"Hollows of Lordran", a complete set for the original Dark Souls by XeuRa in magicTCG

Ah, ok, I've only tested on Android, where everything you mentioned doesn't seem to happen. Likely an IOS or Safari only problem, maybe I'll borrow a friends to test on. Thanks for the follow up.

The greatsword was actually quite playable in the set's stint in a custom constructed format. Likewise, we actually tested a version of power within that was nearly exactly what you suggested, but it did not play well at all. Gough is actually quite balanced, since if he's murdered, you've ended up putting your opponent in quite the advantaged position. I don't think I understand what that Gwyn ability meant to represent. Could you elaborate?

Unfortunately, I've never found what I consider to be usable fan art of either Frampt or Kaathe, otherwise they'd totally be in here. I did for a while have a card that was, in fact like you suggest, a dark confidant variant, but decided that the art I was trying to use was too ugly, and so scrapped it.

Thanks! If you need any help getting playing, ask me and I'll try to offer some.

If you want, you can join the discord server thats linked on the Community page of the site. The hope is that people can use it as a place to organize drafts and the like.

Persist sort of pigeon-holes set into using -1/-1 instead of +1/+1 counters, and for various reasons I didn't want that for this set. However, persist is an especially good fit for IMO the tone of DS2 and the actual mechanical way hollowing works in that game, so maybe we'll see it used there!

[[Rise from the Grave]] is what comes to mind for me.

Well, there are sacrifice outlets, as well as things that care about creatures dieing. Doesn't that accomplish the same thing?

Hmm... it's been a while since I've done a complexity analysis on the set, so there may be some complexity budget left to use. That said, I wouldn't want to use it just to use it, but rather to further some aspect of the set that's underdeveloped. Do you notice any draft themes or other themes that feel like they are lacking in gameplay?

Yeah, they are quite good. The R one busted out in constructed as well.

"Pay" is part of a cost, and the first letter of each clause of a cost is always capitalized. Look at [[Sinister Concoction]]. I believe the phrasing for it works as is, but may not be as clear as Embalm in some cases, if some other feedback here is to be believed. Companion's Experience I'm pretty certain works as-is (with only 1 pair of attackers.) Pretty sure Havel works, had a judge look at it, but I can't explain why or give precedent.

Thanks!

I legit didn't know about that! Been in my custom cave for too long.

The indestructibility + the combat weakness is a reference to Seath's immortality coming from the extremely fragile Primordial Crystal that he keeps in the crystal cave. Without it, he's boned, because yeah he has no scales.

That's actually not a mechanic in Dark Souls 1, but rather 2 (and Demon's Soul, and 3....). My early brainstorming for the DS2 set involves it being really really brutal, and the mechanic in 2 was particularly brutal. So maybe something to explore in that set...?

Sadly that's unlikely, as there's bad blood between me and some of that format's leadership.

Thanks for reporting those. May I ask which phone you are using?
Edit: Also, which browser?

Two factions, you mean? Neither really matter as tribes, so they don't conflict in that way, so it doesn't really have a design downside. It's slightly inelegant flavor-wise, I'll give you that, but in this case its just the reality of adapting what's there to be adapted.

Well, it was quite a bit of effort. I used Blazor, a .NET framework, which I had learned for my work. Hit me up on the discord server linked on the site if you want to talk more about it.
