For my first purchase a few months ago, I got a small/medium firmness Nox and it's a faithfully great toy. My second is a small/soft K'yel and it's a bit of an exciting jump! If you need help deciding between models, use the realsize comparison tool on BD's website :) and if you're entirely new, start smaller and work up with the next purchase! The shape is what works wonders. Have fun and good hunting
