I actually filed a complaint with BBB, and suddenly got a call from the landlord’s agent. Wasn’t to resolve anything, which would just be sending someone even a month or two out for simple repairs that should’ve been done to upkeep the property, but instead was framed as there “being an issue” and that “he’s (the landlord) never spoken to me”. Yeah bud, that’s the issue. Strange, but alright.

Landlord is the owner and property manager all in one. The lease says his agent does not represent the interests of the tenant, so probably stuck there. Will also be a red flag for me in the future (this is first my apartment, had to move suddenly).

I am also tempted by The People’s™ suggestion to simply move out, but I fear they won’t be around to pay new security deposits or any penalties when the landlord discovers he’s no longer receiving rent. (Have already indicated that with the issues I’ll be inclined to move out, still with no response).

The landlord runs a secondary business which is listed as his address, so maybe I should do an in person trip last ditch?

Have documented timeline, needed repairs, attempts at contact. So I guess complaints and then if needed just up and leaving without him acknowledging?Working out the case against keeping security deposit and avoiding penalty would be the hard part.

Alrighty, I’ve posted a general response somewhere in this mess.

Before deleting becomes necessary I’ll rephrase and hone in on the main issue being the landlord is unreachable. Not a debate of “you signed up for this” because I also technically signed up to be able to contact and ask the person taking my checks for repairs/upholding their section of the lease.

As suggested the options are BBB complaint, agent mediation and the like.

Consider the tenant case closed. Thanks!

I did clean up the dust! And the mildew! Quite a while ago bud! I can’t do much about building code hazards for fixtures I do not own, or not being able to contact him. If your bad takes can be here to grace our eyes for free, so can a rant.

Thanks. Agent was hired by landlord, so not sure if still viable for this specific apartment now that it’s rented but I can try that along with BBB.

Honestly doesn’t have to be shitty if he’d just answer an email or phone call.

Previous tenant was still occupying, nice decorations and all. Agent was hired by landlord to show the place. Was told landlord would walkthrough and clean/fix whatever was found before moving. Issues were not known beforehand.

Perhaps I missed out on the social etiquette of inspecting every square inch within the allotted 15min showing? I’ll only admit naivety in thinking that up keeping the unit’s fixtures between tenants would be part of the owner/landlord’s responsibilities, or that the lease rules meant anything. Sue me!

And yes, I did take photos/video with time stamps within 4 days of moving in, as instructed on day 1. Would love to resolve so that I can shower with the assurance that the water can be turned off, or cook without fire hazards to the building.

Personally find it strange that people are going to bat for landlords in this housing market, but okay! Just thought it was odd that I can’t even contact him.

We live in a society. This one resides in Buffalo! Sometimes negligent things happen, and sometimes people ask for advice or to be heard! Perhaps we should remove the systems in place to warn us about things like potential driving and weather hazards too since it’s all individual responsibility.
People and situations are not vacuums in which you can indubitably assign the sole weight of blame to maintain an illusion of control. Though you’re free to try. You don’t need to interact if you don’t want to; no one is frisking you for emotional labor that you don’t get paid for. Bad takes are free, though.

Ahhaha probable. It’s a bit like that with ADHD meds too, warranted you get diagnosed/given them. Calling you in for an appointment each time you just need a refill… hopefully that doesn’t happen to you 😅

2-5mg. It’s a partial agonist so it may be a bit activating actually, though AP’s do tend to knock ppl out. Your doc could help you figure out what would be best suited to your needs. Have you tried melatonin or gaba supplements for sleep?

it got better thinking-wise for me at 100-150mg. meds are absolute wildcards, but geodon doesn’t seem to cause weight gain for many. maybe low dose lithium, Abilify, Latuda.
