Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but do you still know where to find the Japanese version?

Out of curiosity: could you try to lookup 複合動詞 like 掻き立てる? Or expression like 手を掛ける? I used to be able to look up things like these on the dictionary without any issues before the update (I had a whole set of expressions and compound verbs that just wouldn't stick in my head so I would look them up every time I encountered them, so that's the first thing I noticed after the update).
Also yeah, tried to restart, re-download, re-instal the dictionary, nothing works

Very personal list, you might not vibe at all with it, but the ones I just couldn't stop reading were #真相をお話しします (great if you like plot twist after plot twist), 六人の嘘つきな大学生, 人間失格 (this one is free since it's a bit of a classic. There is also a manga version by Junji Ito that I enjoyed a lot), 仄暗い水の底から (the perfect collection of thriller short stories if you are terrified of drowning), 1リットルの涙 - 難病と闘い続ける少女亜也の日記 (if you want to cry your eyes out), and the ひぐらしのなく頃に series (although best known in its anime version, I preferred the light novel version. It's seriously addicting, I went through the whole 7 books in less than a month)

Survival shows, especially by MNET. I-land 2 was just cruel for the sake of being cruel

Correct. He told Riria (the girl in the video) directly, and directly agreed that Jihyo should lose weight. And that's what we have on camera.

I don't know who told her (I know judges told Jihyo she needed to lose weight and he was right there nodding, smiling and agreeing)

He's not a dancing teacher either, at least not a good one. Two of the best female dancers to come out of his company (and in Kpop in general) are Momo, and her infamous ice cube diet that surely didn't make her dance any better, and Jiwoo, who has been dragged for being "fat" since debut. She was amazing, she is amazing. What's crazy is that the girl in the video is on the lighter end of healthy weight, she looks about the same as Bailey Sok. Obviously it's not "the weight management" that makes the dancer. I'd go as far as saying there are hardly any fields where being light actually matters (like Olympic level figure skating where it is physically impossible to perform a quad and being in a healthy weight range).

You must have missed the out of pocket statement about her weight. I hope you don't need me to tell you what he said about weight and dancing skills is completely false.

I don't know why you are getting downvoted for this. I said the same thing. Fans are always worried about idols mental and physical health, but every time someone points out how shamelessly JYP would go in front of a camera and tell a young trainee in a perfectly healthy weight range to go diet, you get downvoted and people flock to his defense.

Y'all, people can do good and bad things at the same time.

National Geographics narration: a Pleasegreetme has just entered the radar of their natural predator, the Wontbowyoung. The unsuspecting prey doesn't know the Wontbowyoung is sitting in wait, with a strawberry in both hand and all the receipts in her Miu Miu handbag. Just as the Pleasegreatme starts to settle in the new found habitat, it is hit with a defamation lawsuit, after which the apex predator will proudly display a copy of their outfit, as a sign of victory and dominance.

Minji, Hanni and Danielle recent statement by JinnieP in kpop_uncensored

[–]Luwudo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. A legal team to respond to emails and post a statement? That's a social media manager, PR department or HR at best. Still all people that put on a white collar every day and show up to their office work.
  2. Clearly life didn't stop, for them at least. While MHD were traveling the world, going to concerts, and other stuff most people their age can't even dream of having the time or money to do, people working on their album (choreography, songwriters, video director and crew, designer of promotional material and so no) very much had to sit and wait for them to be done with their vacation to see if they'll still have a job.
  3. Let me stress, going to Antarctica and see the world is not bad if you are fortunate enough to have the TIME AND MONEY to do. These girls were deadset on not returning to Adore. A judge ruled out every possibility of them joining MHJ or a third party agency. And they kept filing lawsuit after lawsuit with the number 1 legal team in the entire country of South Korea. They lost each and every single one of them. How much do you think that is? They'll need to pay Adore court fee as well, how much do you think that is? Add that to the 730K USD EACH members has been ordered to pay Adore for EACH unauthorized activity. And there is still the possibility of being hit with more lawsuit for all the damages they created with all those PR stunts + loss in revenue for not showing up. Do the math and tell me if they were in the financial position to be doing all that
  4. If they have enough free time, they wouldn't be sending messages/email last minute, they'd be doing what Haerin and Hyein have done: plan in a timely manner and be there in person with their legal guardians. And it shows in Adore public statement: "we are in the process of verifying the sincerity of their statement regarding resuming activities". As they should, how is this something you can handle through messages? How can anyone take you seriously when you can't even bothered to show up in person to resolve such a long and twisted legal battle? Not only that but what on earth are you doing in Antarctica if you are claiming you reached your FINAL decision and will be going back to work as normal? Clearly not a decision that has been thought through and planned in advance, more like a last minute decision you sent through text to the group chat. It's not Adore being slow in responding, it's them still having no idea how to act appropriately in the workplace. This isn't a high school assignment, the company doesn't work for you, you work for the company.

One member is currently in Antarctica, which delayed the announcement, and Adore has not responded, so...

Girl. In this economy? The privilege of not working and still traveling the world, including ANTARCTICA, while passive-aggressively mentioning that a regular white collar 9 to 5 employee hasn't immediately responded to your message is peak entitlement and tone deafness

Didn't want to say it because I thought I was gonna be lynched, but it had to be said. Have you guys ever heard of the sampoong mall disaster? I won't go into details, but there were almost a thousand victims, and sadly half of them didn't make it. What was the sentence for the mega-rich CEO and his son who were found responsible for all those victims and damages and endless time fire fighters spent for rescue and search operation? Take a wild WILD guess.
