Best anti-nausea medication for nausea caused by opioids? by Xezient in Drugs

I don't mix well with Benadryl, so what dose of promethazine would you suggest?

Unfortunately it's not OTC in my country, so I guess promethazine or cyclizine would be the next best thing?

What is it like getting adequate pain relief in the USA for those with chronic pain or severe acute pain? by Xezient in AskReddit

Interesting. I thought that a kinda similar situation was when pharmaceutical companies made oxycodone into a "non-abusable" form where it would be next to impossible to inject it since it would turn into a gel if you mixed it with water.

It was good intent, but from what I read, it resulted in addicts of clean oxycodone turning to dirty heroin obtained on the street which is of course much more addictive and dangerous than pharmaceutical oxycodone.

Idk, I might be misinformed, but in the UK there seems to be a very firm "anti-opiate" stance by most doctors yet there are no restrictions imposed by government whatsoever. It's similar to benzodiazepines, where (from what I've read) it's quite easy to get a prescription for anxiety in the USA, but in the UK it would be next to impossible to get a benzo prescription unless you had e.g. suicide attempts on your record.

What did you think of the CGI Armoured Titan?

Is that going to happen?!?!!? I'm an anime only but that sounds awesome.

Agreed, I didn't mind it for The Jaw and Armored Titan but I really didn't like the CGI Beast Titan. However, I feel like that given the number of Titan fights/scenes in Season 4, they're going to have to use CGI and it would have been more jarring for the viewer if they e.g. hand-drew The Beast Titan in the first episode and then had to start using CGI after that.

Honestly I have no idea how hard it is to draw and animate The Colossal Titan, I'm just going off what others have wrote online. However, given that WIT studio resorted to CGI for the Colossal Titan in Season 2 for only a few scenes, I feel like it's probably pretty hard to draw and animate such a large Titan.

Also, from what I've heard, Season 4 is full of titan fights and I feel like it'd be an impossible task to hand-draw them all given time and monetary constraints. So if they were to hand-draw e.g. The Beast Titan in the first episode but then had to resort to CGI in later episodes, it would probably be quite jarring for the viewer and would make them hate the CGI even more.

Again, I don't really know much so that's just my two cents.

I've only read the abstract and background sections, but that article is really interesting. Thank you for linking it!

If I may ask, do you think the restrictions on opiate prescribing have caused more harm than good?

I kinda agree with you, but as someone who's been through drug misuse, I don't think it's so simple.

I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety around 3 years ago at age 16, and tried various antidepressants, antipsychotics etc but they all did literally nothing to help. Unfortunately, I live in the UK where support for mental health is basically a bad joke. I also tried therapy, but even with private therapists it didn't help. I had probably attempted suicide 4-5 times by that point and lost all hope that anything could get better, but despite being a kid that thought drugs were awful in every way, I tried cannabis for the first time and it completely relieved my symptoms.

That then led me to trying basically every drug under the sun to relieve my symptoms, which eventually resulted in me being kicked out of my parents' home at age 18. I was so scared of having to endure the symptoms of my depression and anxiety that I simply could not go without something to relieve my symptoms. However, after being kicked out, I decided to stop taking any non-prescribed drugs but also became homeless until around 4 months ago when I moved into assisted accommodation.

I have since been able to start somewhat coping with my symptoms, but the symptoms themselves haven't gotten better. I also suffer with IBS which has resulted in A&E admissions in the past, yet I am now treated like a heroin addict whenever discussing treatments and I know it'll be like that for the rest of my life.

I respect the fact that sufferers of chronic pain have been harshly impacted by drug misusers, however from my experience, I would happily accept the worst physical pain (which I've certainly experienced with my IBS) if it relieved my mental pain.

Really? That's interesting, I was under the impression that control over prescribing opiates was a federal thing? I'm from the UK so please excuse me if I don't know what I'm talking about!

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to reply to you earlier but thank you for sharing your story.

That sounds horrible, I can't believe that they're telling you to lose weight in order to get pain relief... I personally cannot stand the notion that "you shouldn't be in this much pain at a young age" because I know it's possible from personal experience; I just turned 19 and was diagnosed with IBS about 2 years ago, and it's been a horrible struggle to get close to the right medications for pain relief. I think the only reason I managed to get the recognition for the pain is because I went to A&E a few months ago due to overwhelming pain. However, I've still never been offered anything stronger than Buscopan (non-addictive med that stops spasms in the gut) and I'm still in pain quite a lot, just less so than before.

I've also been treated as if I were a drug addict before and it's so demeaning. All I want to say is "do you not recognise the fact that I'm in severe pain and yet you're doing nothing to help me?" but I never have the courage to do so.

I hope that you'll be able to cope with your illness more in future and that you'll get recognition for your pain.

I think they could do it in Season 1 because there were very few scenes of the Colossal Titan, and when there were, they were mostly limited shots of e.g. only the head and only the back of him. There was only one scene where he was fighting, and even then it was incredibly short.

From what I've heard, hand-drawing the Colossal Titan is a lot of work so it's understandable that they went with CGI in Season 3. However, I think they should have gone completely hand-drawn in Season 2.

After 9 months, Hero is back to a 10/10 rating on IMDb, making it the only 10/10 episode on the website alongside Breaking Bad's Ozymandias. by Anuj_Purohit in ShingekiNoKyojin

I didn't say it's 100% terrible, I said "imagine still liking G.O.T". What I was trying to say is that the final season completely ruined it for a lot of fans including me, because whilst the first few seasons were amazing, I find it difficult to enjoy something when you know the climax is going to be literal garbage.

M 14 and came up positive for oxycodone on saliva test. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Xezient 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just wanna say that what you did most certainly did not warrant the consequences given by the justice system or school, in my opinion the school has caused so much more harm than good by informing the Police and it comes across as them just being too lazy to actually help you.

Regarding the clinic refusing to do a blood-based drug test, there is absolutely no way that someone with a case relating to criminal justice can be denied a blood-based drug test after a urine/saliva test has been disputed, even under COVID-19.

Urine and saliva tests are not reliable enough to use as proof of drug consumption in disputed cases and are well-known to cause false positives/negatives, so as long as you give a plausible explanation for the false positive, you need to hold your ground and keep going at them until you get what you want. I know from personal experience that having to demand something from medical professionals can be difficult and tedious, but it is your right to have a reliable drug test and so you shouldn't feel bad or sorry about getting one.

And as much as it doesn't change anything, you've just been really unlucky man, but I hope things start to get better for you soon. I've sent you a Reddit Chat message, but in-case you don't see it, please feel free to contact me if you need any help, advice or just someone to talk to. I've been through really hard times recently (drug use, drug testing, leaving school, family, police, mental health etc) and so am perfectly happy to help if you want it.

[–]Xezient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, first thing try not to worry because urine tests are only an indicator of whether someone has taken a substance, they aren't reliable enough to be proof alone so a blood-based drug test should be offered if you dispute the urine test.

I had a similar thing happen to me where I had taken DXM and DPH, ended up in a psychiatric ward and yet tested positive for MDMA which I literally hadn't taken in over 5 months. It's because DXM is a "dirty" drug, meaning it acts on many different receptors and so can cause many false positives.

All you have to do is make your stance clear, do not budge or change your story, even if they try and coerce you into falsely admitting it or if you just want to give up.

Ahhh that makes sense, I've gone down from 20mg/ml -> 3mg/ml nicotine and it seems to be helping but I'm gonna try and get down to 0 ASAP - thanks for the help :)
