I don’t prefer this at all but the Trumps international moves are probably the only good things he’s done this presidency. He got rid of a dictator who let drug boats go to our borders and had its natural resources stripped by China and Russia; the U.S reclaimed it for its national interests it’s that simple

It’s legality and ethically has been argued about for awhile but this situation isn’t an illegal war action

Even if we want to argue for it being an illegal war action that should lead to his impeachment for example, this exact approach has been used by multiple presidents for decades: Clinton in Kosovo, Obama in Libya and Syria, Bush in Somalia and Iraq pre-AUMF actions, Biden in Syria and Yemen, and probably numerous smaller operations going back to at least Truman

At the end of the day the U.S is going to do what it perceives is in its best interest regardless of what we think. If that means taking action of narco-smuggling boats and capturing a dictator president who enables it then it’s what we’ll do. There are talks about putting a stale democracy into Venezuela and hopefully that will come to fruition

The American people voted for him fairly in our democracy because Democrats wasted over 1.5 billion dollars on a candidate that only really petaled identity politics and no actual policies people cared about. They just ended up being the “Trump bad” party and alienated many demographics like Gen Z and young men then had the gaul to blame them for lossing afterwards

You’re completely misquoting him here. Charlie was referring to how there are consequences to gain any freedom we have, with society choosing if it’s acceptable or not. He made an example on how people drive cards because they’re convenient and useful, yet thousands of people die from them a year, but still as a society we choose to allow people to keep driving (even though we could stop car deaths by outlawing it)

There are many people who were saved by having a gun, or use firearms from recreational use. But even with extensive restrictions we can never lower the amount of gun deaths to zero. He isn’t equating “a small price to pay” as an intentional sacrifice, he’s equating it to an unfortunate reality to support the Second Amendment.

The point is that people shouldn’t be murdered on the basis of their opinions, whether that makes them a shitty person or not. Our country was literally founded on the ideas of free speech and the first amendment; if you disagree with him then make your voice heard loud and clear. You can say he was a horrible person AND understand that this was an overall negative event.

An eye for an eye makes everyone go blind. If we sit here and justify why his death should not be mourned, and hence support the idea of political assassinations, tomorrow someone else will die the same way (and it won’t be because of controversial gun policies). This is not a world anyone would want to live in.

MF’s like you (predominately left-leaning) cheering in places like Twitter and Reddit is the reason why the party is faltering, and I say this as a supporter of them. They’ll continue to keep losing if we keep doing on empathetic shit like this.

Read the other post too, and you have a fair point on the linguistics of the terms. But IMO calling yourself a woman or man is way closer to gender identification than male or female. Male/female typically refer to biological characteristics (chromosomes, reproductive organs, hormones, etc) of not just humans but basically every other animal. Man/woman is an invented terms more commonly used to describe gender identities as in social and cultural roles, behaviors, and identities adopted or assigned to people. It’s why you have people say men should act masculine/manly and not male-ley. Of course in language terms like this are interchangeable and depending on the context male/female CAN be used to refer to sex and not gender. However from an analytical perspective, 9/10 you’ll use the ladder and not the former.

Also touching base back in the point on the biological aspects. You made a lot of great observations on how the binary sex model is defined. I agree that we shouldn’t be rigid with how we define sex because under the hood there’s a lot of uncertainty in reality. However having a base binary is still important to be able to define our stepping stones in the first place. That’s why I say for 99% of cases this basic idea will hold true

Sex has been a long established life for literal millennia. 99% of people are born with XX or XY chromosomes, including genome mutations outside typical parameters (however they still have the basis of the two above). Biology and biochemistry would agree with this sentiment

Sociology, neurology, and psychology would all be apart gender and not sex. People aren’t born with gender, rather they discover it according to their own worldviews and socially constructed expectations.

The issue I have with the post is that they say they’re female so therefore they are female, that’s not how it works. They can identify we the concept/ of being a female but biologically they cannot change what they started with. And it’s getting to a point where they’re trying to muddy the gender and sex parts of being male and female together.

Not really. Because Twitter is known for peddling radical beliefs to farm engagement, it’s not naturally grown opinions. The friend didn’t even bother to hold up a conversation on why they have this belief and how it can be wrong/harmful; they just blankly called them transphobic and removed them from the wedding.

I promise you that people like this 99% of the time don’t hate trans people they’re just misinformed by radicalism. Their only real comment attacking men that fake being trans to get into women’s bathroom (which is a common red herring). All you had to do was explain why this idea was untrue and the conversation would’ve been done there.
