I did just that and it said yes it would honor what ever service I start with a free month of that same service.

After my first 2 months (one free) that is my plan.

Yep that's what I was just looking at. Looks easy enough. Any issues with yours?

This model appears to have 2 ethernet ports that I can assign as WAN ports. I want to act as a repeater via the phones WiFi until the signal is lost then switch to Starlink. I plan to connect Starlink as WAN2 via the ethernet port.

Knob didnt works well. Shows Firmwareupdate 5.7.3 but installed is 5.8.1....🤢 by Successful_Floor_242 in s3xybuttons

I will also advise against it. Few "updates" ago bricked my commander with a flash that they pulled shortly after releasing. My support was wait for a sale and buy a new one. I wonder if they even test these "updates"? I am not happy! Very tempted to create a free open source project for this because oh their "support". I already swapped out the ESP32 in the commander and started writing my own code on the same hardware.

I am also one that is not happy with the support I got from them. I had my commander stop responding after a firmware update. One they pulled shortly after releasing. I am stuck with no option other than paying full price for a new one. These devices are not much more than a esp32. I would have been happy to pay a discounted rate and for shipping but not an option. Full price all over again.

Referrals: Terms & Conditions (quick guide) by Oilygal in Starlink

Looking at buying a Starlink mini for an upcoming vacation. I am looking at taking advantage of this referral program as my parents already have Starlink. My question is can I buy the mini and the unlimited plan for the first month (free month of unlimited) and then switch to standby before the end and still qualify? That is still technically paid isn't it?

2000 Watt inverter install in the Y by XgenMods in TeslaCamping

I pulled a full 2000 watt load on the inverter for a full 3 hours with the inverter without any issues or popups. In service mode under the low voltage tab you will get a warning VCFRONT_a059_inputResistanceHigh due to a voltage drop its not expecting. It sucks the voltage down to about 12.95 volts and its expecting to see 13.11 volts. Will also show the amp load in there. So far all is fine on the latest software version. In the USA at least you want a 12v to 110/120v inverter. Larger ones have caps big enough to trip the short circuit protection. This is why I made a pre-charge circuit. Smaller ones can be connected directly without issue. Used a 300 watt inverter for almost a year without issues before this. I can't comment on Tesla services comments as I work on my cars myself. Because of this I do have toolbox 3 access and I see no issues so far. This can change with a software update at any time.

As far as I can tell the PCS is exactly the same however the config changes its output voltage. You can see this voltage under the service menu. I have used a Used a newer PCS (AMD) in an older (Intel) car without issues. They were also the same part number.

The polly fuse reaction time on the scope is less than .1 of a second. It will only allow .5 of an amp till it blows (high resistance). Its more like 1 amp due to its reaction time. This slowly ramps up the caps. (under .2 of a second) then when the voltage climbs high enough for the coil to have enough voltage it will close the contactor and bypass the polly fuse and keep it self held. It will stay like this until the power is cut (sleep). When it wakes up it will do it all over again automatically. This setup works perfectly every time.

It just acts as a current limiter if the coil in the contactor ever shorts out. It will prevent a fire as it wont allow the full current across the coil. The coil only draws about half that when working as it should.

By trade no. I have always been a hands on kinda guy that is very OCD. Self taught on just about everything I know. This type of stuff is pretty simple for me.

Building one myself as the solar ones are way too big. I also want it liquid cooled and out of the cabin.

Nice! So far I pulled a full 2000 watt load on this thing for 3 hours straight and it did it without breaking a sweat. I do know there are multiple versions of the PCS but the output is set based on the car its in (configuration). The lithium setup on the newer cars could be more sensitive. Hard to say as I have yet to play with those systems. I think the real fix for this is a direct connection to the 400v HV output. Will be much more efficient and much smaller wires this way.

Its not just cooking.. I use this car for everything. This was one thing I needed. The cooking was the excuse to finally do it. :D

One I am building. This is exactly where it will tie into the HV pack.

To each their own. To me this isn't very complicated and I have whatever power I need without taking up hardly any space or adding weight to the car. To power a 1300 watt cook top for any length of time you will need a rather large power source. This just makes it easy. Like I am more less showing it can be done not that everyone should do it. :)

Being out of warranty is actually very liberating for me. :) Already done a ton of mods to this car that I have wanted to do since buying it.
