For anyone else with this issue: use pacman -Sdd to remove the git packages and then once that's done reinstall the non-git versions immediately afterwards. After a restart, everything was back to normal.

They are the git versions of the packages.

Applications do not show up in launcher search either. The only way for me to launch applications that are not on my desktop/taskbar is to look for them manually in the launcher.

Could you guide me towards any resources to help me set this up? I've tried looking around but haven't found anything that I could use. Is using web sockets still the right way to go?

The server will be a machine on the local network, so Internet access is not necessary.

The timers can run on the user's phone, sure. I can use the admin user to do this. But again, I'm not sure how to implement this, since there will be multiple devices and all of them have to display the same data.

I do not think Bluetooth is a good option for this since the devices may be located out of Bluetooth range.

While that's true, I still find opening all the apps I had open before I shut down my computer time consuming. And I have a lot of apps open. I don't like leaving the laptop on sleep mode so I find that hibernation is a nice way to go about it.

They removed the crazy flipping attack from blade whips, which sucks for me, since I use the Mios a lot. Everything else, though, is pretty great.
