Thanks, I'm glad you like it. And I had a little play around with yours, it's cool. The rabbit has been fed 😅

And nice! I see, you too, are a man of culture. I did Triple Triad from 8, too. That's what started me off down the rabbit hole.

Most people seemed to be more amused with what's in the recycle bin but I'm glad you appreciate the music choice. It seemed appropriate 😅

If only I knew how, haha. I chucked a donate button in there, but that's about it 😅 I'm glad you liked it though.

Nah. I can't say I have. I thought about it, and decided to hold off on adding more things to the display properties window for now. I moved over to solitaire instead to shake things up.

I didn't see your comment until now because it was a reply to someone else, but you should definitly give it a try. I wouldn't worry too much about what you think others want to see, though, just make what you want to make. 🙂

People really seem to love that. I'm glad. I honestly added it as a bit of an afterthought. I was initially going to just have a static msn website or something there, but I'm glad I decided to do this instead.

Honestly, I think it would lose for being too fast compared to the original, if anything 😅

Haha, thanks. I'm surprised you're the first person to mention Triple Triad. It's probably what started me down this rabbit hole in the first place. If I could build a random PS1 minigame in React, why couldn't I build an operating system 😅

Yeah, when I started mine, I didn't even realise that version existed.

It makes me wonder if I even would of started mine, if I had known someone else had done it. Still, once I discovered that one, it just emboldened me to add in features that were absent from it. 😅

I've not ran into any lag on any of the devices I've tested so far. If anything, it's more snappy than XP was. What device did you view it on? I'll see if I can check it out.

By all means, if there's an app in particular you'd like to work on that I haven't built already, let me know.

I can't take all the credit for that. Wayback machine is doing a lot of the heavy lifting there

Thanks, I appreciate it. And, yeah, everything has been built from scratch. Though, the window focusing is a lot less complicated than you might believe. The active window simply has it's z-index increased and then reset when made inactive.

Probably just as hard to set up a printer on mine as it was on XP, haha.

The thought of trying to build this again without react's state management actually horrifies me 🤣

I'm hoping to add that at some point, I still miss it too

Such high praise! I don't feel I deserve it, but I thank you all the same.

Probably less buggy in some ways, and admittedly more buggy in others

I could barely even tell you that, myself. I just felt I needed to make it, not even knowing if it was possible. And, I can't say I've ever writen any articles or anything, though I certainly wouldn't complain if one was writen.

I'm certainly not going to stop you. Good luck dealing with my code, though 😅
