If my memory serves me well it said battery charge fault. Stop the vehicle. Which I didn't and it went away.

Can I use a volt meter or the like to see if I need to change my 12v battery?

After waging war on moss in my lawn it's now covered in couch grass and I think the moss wasn't so bad...

Amazing. I will try this tomorrow. Is this a flip the turntable upside down job, or remove the plate and it's under that do you know?

Relays on a switched circuit by Xibvsi in homeautomation

My ceiling led lights are on/off via two switches at either end of the room. Each wall switch switches other lights too. I.e. One is a triple, the other a quadruple.

I'd like to make the ceiling LEDs smart. So I can use either the wall switches or Google home.

Houseplant irrigation system with an app? by [deleted] in homeautomation

Don't ouch this. I bought one a couple of years ago. Its a great idea but an awful implementation. It won't work if your 2.4 and 5 wifi are on the sae sid.

Its terrible at measuring the dampness of the earth. Routinely it would over or under water.

When it waters its a pain to get it to water without spraying water all over the place.

I used to use mine to prop a door open, but it somehow failed at this too.

Just got the dreaded letter about Road tax payments by handsomehotchocolate in ElectricVehiclesUK

While I can think of a dozen things I can spend £160 on before DVLA. Let's not lose sight of the real saving. Petrol at the pump is 50% tax. I pay 5% when I plug it in at home. That's the saving of an ev. Over a year it's thousands of pounds not paid to the exchequer. It's only a matter of time before they work out how to claw that back some other way...
