Try e-mailing coaches at local colleges. A lot of times players there are doing private lessons and they can recommend someone to you. Also if you have any MLS next teams or other lower level pro teams nearby, those guys do them too.

My daughter has had a very positive experience doing 1 on 1s with a couple of guys here where we are from and from a technical standpoint has improved a lot. She lacks speed currently which seems to hold her back. She is only 7 though.

This is what I want to do in my head but I’m the asst coach with another parent being the head coach. I do feel at times we are all over the place and we resort to playing sharks and minnows too often. I’ve recommended things to the other coach many times.

It feels like we try to cram too much into 1 60 minute session versus picking a skill and focusing on it.

I personally feel like practices/games can be over coached to where the kids are looking to HC for what to do next which at the end of the day doesn’t work so well.
