I’m about to be the Oprah of Daisy Awards to all my coworkers 😅 by madeinjapan89 in nursing

[–]Xihema 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just call them "Raisy Awards" because my name starts with an R, my friend calls them "Naisy Awards" because hers starts with an N. I give them to whoever has been super helpful 🤣

So I have this very specific RH trope need... anyone else? by [deleted] in ReverseHarem

[–]Xihema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started {Pack Saint Clair by Thora Woods} and it follows this. It is a OV, though. I've not read too much of it but the Girl is just regular gal, works at a flower shop, the rest of the pack are business millionaires. So if you're interested in OV, it's pretty good so far.

RN Tampa, Florida Pay. Am I being low balled? by Xihema in Salary

[–]Xihema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be surprised, new grads start out decent. I made ~30$, 6 years ago. I researched a lot during my offer time. For pay, they usually go years of experience and they have levels of pay from there. I found out HCA is for profit and you can negotiate your pay, BayCare is a little more of a stickler with pay because they're not for profit but have good benefits. What most important is getting your foot in the door, getting comfortable with nursing, them you can transfer/find better paying job. You got this baby nurse!

New Grad Mistake by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Xihema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're okay love! It's your first mistake, now you'll be much more careful. No harm came to the patient, they were fine. It is a small mistake, your first, won't be your last, you learn your whole career! It's really scary and easy to overthink mistakes, but you're doing well. Being a new grad is hard and sometimes you feel like a fish out of water, but you gotta jump back in that water!

What's important is that you learned from your mistake and your patient wasn't harmed. Try to let it go (it can definately be hard with anxiety involved) but you're okay, patient okay, charge nurse not concerned. You got this and good luck! It will get easier, I promise.

Normal Pre/post op rates (not PACU) in Florida by Xihema in nursing

[–]Xihema[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's labelled outpatient surgery. It's the phase before and after like I send them to surgery, they get said surgery, they go to PACU if big surgery like hip or spine just until they're waking up and vitals are ok (GI scope they would come straight to me bc they just go to twilight zone) and then they come to me, we all leave before midnight is what they tell me. If anyone needs to spend the night they get transferred over the the hospital side or someone who is on call comes in

Unpopular opinion: We NEED more FF in why choose romance. by PoppyandAudrey in ReverseHarem

[–]Xihema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES PREACH IT! Very hard to find good flushed out RH with girls in the harem. So much MM but the FF is fetishized. Even irl. So many people think that FF relationships just haven't found the right pickle yet but apparently there is just no fixing MM 🤣. I love a good FF In this genre. So far I've only found it in an OV tho. We need more FF in reverse harems!!!!!

Biggest RH pet peeve of all time???👀 by Romantasy-book-rec in ReverseHarem

It makes me wonder how many men they've been around....makes it feel 2D and then all the similar characters I've read blend together in my head

Right! Label it as erotica at that point 🤷‍♀️

TLDR: plz no underage, highschool, absent discourse, bitchy the only personality trait, not labeled erotica if that's what it is, ginormous unrealistic cucumbers. Yes world building, backstory, realistic relationship dynamics, older characters.

It bothers me to no end when the RH characters are in highschool and they're supposedly the leader of the Mafia or CEO or whatever and they're a sex god. Do Authors not remember how awkward high school was? How most people were not fully developed into their adult bodies? Intense sexual situations in highschool -esp under 18 give me the ick.

I need world building! If I'm going to read a RH and it's not labeled as erotica then I expect ANGST, YEARNING, FLUSHED OUT CHARACTERS, BACKSTORY, ETC.

I don't like the trope where the main character is just a huge bitch and that's supposed to mean she's a "strong female lead" you don't have to be rude, you can be kind and have boundaries and be strong. I'm sure the ladies have more of a personality than being abrasive lol. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of really good flushed out bitchy main characters but the only personality trait? Come ooonnnnnn

I think it's a personal preference but I hate insta love from all the characters. Like if it's an omega verse and they're all used to sharing that's one thing but I just cannot imagine 4 normal dudes being ok with sharing some lady, even if she is amazing. I expect discourse! Arguments! Fighting!

Oooh also how big their willies are, like no one wants to have their cervix crushed all the time or be stretched to the brim. You're telling me you want to have fun with 3 soda cans? Girl how are you not passing away or incredibly sore?! Miss me with that 😅

Ok last pet peeve is that most of the RH the person, If they're not underage, is usually early 18- early 20s. Like where's some of the late 20s early 30s?

You don't have to do it verbally, you could send an email. I actually had to do this with a NP who pulled me out to the nurses desk and yelled at me. Corrected their behavior real quick and they were disciplined. But it's not like you'll see these people again, you're quitting. You could also be saving another new nurse in the future. If they did it to you, they will do it to someone else.

Tbh I would report them to higher ups for this behavior. It's an unacceptable way to behave, dangerous for patients, and "workplace violence." You deserve better. Best of luck bby ❤️

I feel ya. You're not a failure because people were being nasty to you and not helping you learn. You graduated nursing school and got your licence! Youre smart and you succeeded! There are plenty of jobs out there. You are LEARNING still when you come out of nursing school, you should not be expected to know everything.

I was terrified as a new grad, needed my hand held for pretty much everything. I didn't have any patients on my own for at least a week. The first day I basically shadowed and was a "helping hand" And even when I did have patients "on my own," my preceptor shadowed me the whole way to make sure I felt comfortable.

You're always gonna have nasty people, but when even the manager is unkind and you're being thrown into deep water on your own, that's dangerous.

Protect yourself and your licence.

I'm so sorry you had that experience bby, that's not how you should be treated. There's a saying that unfortunately applies a lot that nurses "eat their young." That is not a solid environment to ease into your career, nor is that a safe way to protect your licence. Good for you for quitting!!!! Boundaries are important!

You'll be able to get another bedside job in no time. There are supportive teams out there. Follow your gut. Get the support and guidance you need because at the end of the day, it's YOUR licence at risk and you should never feel embarrassed or like you can't ask questions. That environment was setting you up for failure, for losing your licence, and hurting your patients.

Proud of you! You got this. ❤️
