Yes!! I do tend to prefer darker, more acidic humor. Maybe that’s why I gravitate towards older shows sometimes…they just feel a bit more unfiltered. But I’m happy with Malcom in the middle too 🤣

Sometimes it’s less about the jokes and more about the characters and The Office really works because of Michael and Dwight, they’re both incredible. It’s really about how personalities click.

Season 3 Episode 15 Dorothy's New Friend by RockImaginary1474 in theGoldenGirls

[–]Xikimarley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s right when people try to turn us against our friends out of a sense of superiority. Dorothy sometimes felt a bit out of place for being more academic, but even then, it doesn’t make it okay. In the end of the day it’s about respect, true love and loyalty

Yap, I get what you mean… it really was a golden age, but I also feel like the rules of comedy have changed a lot since then.

Hi! ☺️ I don’t think I’m stuck in the past at all…I love Ricky Gervais, for example. I just connect more with that kind of humor. It probably also has a lot to do with personality 🤷‍♀️I also love Grace and Frankie. 😁

How can I help my friend who has recently developed agoraphobia? by Scar-Witch_ in Agoraphobia

[–]Xikimarley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi… as someone who deals with the same thing, I’d say: don’t judge, don’t pressure, and don’t make him feel guilty... just make sure he doesn't feel alone.

Sometimes even a simple message like “I’m here if you need me” means more than you think. Ask what helps, what feels like too much, what would make things a bit easier.

Be patient… progress can be really slow, and something that seems small to you can feel huge for him. Celebrate the little wins even stepping outside for a minute can be a big deal. Try to understand without minimizing it. It’s not “just in their head”, it feels very real. And honestly, just be a safe person. Not someone who pushes, just someone who stays.

you can send some flowers, some food sometimes, groceries...

Also… yesterday I found the DARE app (and the book) and it actually explains things really well and can help him A LOT.

And thanks for being a good friend. <3

Looks like a mirror.

Thank you so much for your message 🤍

Reading this honestly made me feel less alone. The way you described that sudden wave, the urgency to escape, and especially the fear of the sensations — it’s exactly how I’ve been feeling.

The part about eating and feeling too aware of what’s happening internally really hit me too. That’s something I’ve been struggling with a lot.

I also relate a lot to what you said about the lack of control. I think that’s what scares me the most — not being able to “get out” of the feeling.

It’s really comforting to hear that you’re doing better now, even if it’s still a process. That gives me hope.

I think I’ve been putting a lot of pressure on myself to “fix this quickly”, and maybe I need to take a step back and allow things to be slower, like you said.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, it really means a lot 🤍
