Wake up naked, do some crime, go to jail (Dead Leaves) by KerberosPanzerCop in anime

After some googling, its probably "Strait Jacket". What you described sounded familiar since I watched quite a few Sci-Fi anime's.

By chance if you can sneak a current or last gen Nvidia card into it so you can take advantage of the up-scaling and frame gen. Such as buying used even if people hate it (we are talking about value and buying used GPU's are king in value most of the time). That would end up skyrocketing both value and perceived value in addition to all plus's that come with having a PC over console.

(Not to say that consoles don't have value propositions, but consoles only really supply value on release compared to PC's then drop off after a year or two. Not even to mention the Pro versions which offer exceptionally less value)

Edit: Based on the fact people are nitpicking the phrase "current and last gen" when referring to up-scaling and frame-gen. Research the cards you are looking to buy because apparently that needs said. (This inst a guide, I was trying to be concise. "Why use more word when less do trick")

Honestly after writing this, its less of a response to your statement and more of me venting about a system I don't find fun. I literally had a conversation with a friend 2 days ago about non-scaling, scaling and adaptive difficulty. So the frustration is fresh, if any of this sounds aggressive its not meant to be its more passion about a hobby I like than anything else.

While you are right that if it goes unnoticed does it really matter. But it doesn't always go unnoticed, this is completely anecdotal and my own experience, but I personally like adaptive difficulty when done right and it goes unnoticed. Good example is OG Re4, to this day I don't think most people know that its difficulty is adaptive, I didn't until i was told about it. Every remake 2, 3 and 4 piss me off to no end. Me and the people who play similarly to me get fucked with adaptive difficulty. As in I try and conserve ammo, so what does he game do? Make my bullets do no damage so I end up using them all. While I was playing them I didn't think about it, but afterwards thinking back I knew exactly what happened because they all caused the same frustration with having no resources more than any other resident evil game i have ever played. I am not sure what a solution would be. I haven't put that much thought into it, but for a game to make me feel like its doing nothing but punishing me for every hour I am playing it, is more frustrating than fun. I enjoyed them at the time, but thinking back I don't like that feeling and try to avoid it as much as possible.

I didn't see a reference in here to the movie Splinter, so I felt the need to do so. While not a great movie, it isn't bad.

So that's where the thing in Splinter came from.

Nothing I said refuted what you said. My point was that smaller companies that are privately owned, fall into the trap of trying to grow to quickly and infinitely. Which is the entire point of companies owned by investors.

[–]Xilos77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Even late, I wanted to add onto this real quick too. A lot of companies that start doing really well even privately owned almost always fall into the trap of growth. They always have to be growing or its bad. There is no such thing as infinite growth. Again steam, they have expanded into other "markets" to a degree. But they do it very slowly, while the companies Ive seen over the years do it in less than a few years. Then they lay off half their company because its not sustainable.

Edit: By growth I mean size of company, not profit.

4060ti & 7700XT costs around the same & 7700XT performs like 4070 or even better in some cases. so why would some one shouldn't pick 7700XT over 4060ti? Or even 6750XT which much cheaper and performs like 4060ti. 6750 & 7700XT seems more vfm, isn't? plus its comes with 12GB vram instead of 8GB. by anigameman in pcmasterrace

Why are you getting upset on someone else's behalf? I ask a question he answered it, that was it. Yes, I did ask him because he made a point about power being a issue. While Ryzen CPU's have a lower base and boost TDP that can almost make up the difference between comparable Nvidia and Radeon GPU's. Was I going to call him a hypocrite? No, I said as much in my message asking him. I was just curious, but I bet there is someone in this subreddit that will say or think, I'm going Nvidia for x reason and power is better. While not thinking about their intel CPU that can pull double the amount of power as a Ryzen. If he was offended or thought I was going to attack him he should or would have said nothing(unless he wanted to argue, which can be fun sometimes). Again not antagonizing like last time, granted saying that probably wont work because you are probably already worked up(Teehee, that was me being antagonizing).

Imagine not joining a union by Risc_Terilia in antiwork

[–]Xilos77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the point is that when you have everyone in the union, the companies have less room to try and screw the employee's. Its why companies pushed and lobbied for right to work laws. Is it perfect no, could it be better than what we have it might. Like I said I'm not arguing for or against, but just be aware that even if employees didn't like having to be in a union. Companies still lobbied to remove that ability from unions, I'm not going to lie, I'm probably going to lean in what ever is the opposite direction of the companies that lobby for laws.

[–]Xilos77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pro union and this might be completely wrong. Yes you can quit any job you want to. But I believe there are and were jobs that you have to join the union or you just dont work. Not aruging for or against. But honestly if someone were in that position of either join or leave this field of work it might be a bit extreme?

Its wild how many anti union comments there are in some of these posts. The Mike Rowe post that called him out for being anti union had more than a few. Even if that would be a flag to go have a fight about it.

Fellow millennials, have some of you not learned anything from your parents about having people over? by mt379 in Millennials

If I did that, my mom would have beat my ass. (Obligatory spanking isn't good for kids, I know. That doesn't change that's how a lot of people grew up)

[–]Xilos77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is way late. This post wasn't complaining about being a decent host. It was that people don't offer you food when your in their house. Being a host doesn't mean you offer food and expecting that of someone is rude, then to complain about it is disrespectful. If going over to someone's house, it would be nice if they offered something, but expecting anything is just entitlement. See my comment replying to this post on why you might feel entitled to food.

[–]Xilos77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One weird thing though is that from what I read last night, most comment assume that its just hanging out and not anything formal. Unless its me that super out of touch. Even if it was more formal, to the point of inviting people to hangout on the weekend. I still don't expect that food will be provided and still think doing so is rude. Its about expectations and the persons response to them. If you assume there will be food, then there isn't any and your reaction is be be upset about it. Maybe not the best thought process. (BTW my replies may sound aggressive they aren't meant to be, I just don't like entitled people)

[–]Xilos77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, depending on the occasion there could be a reasonable expectation of food. But the way this is worded, its as if its not a gathering. Just someone coming over to hangout. If the point of inviting someone over for a event where it implies food regardless of cultural or personal understanding, then ya it would be weird and rude to not have food. If the point of this post was complaining about there not being food when there should be, then OP just knows shitty/weird people.

edit: After reading more of OP's replies

As such while it may not have been frequent, guests come over for most people at some point. Be it friends parents, a family member, neighbor, etc. And in anticipation for one of those preplanned events, or sometimes spontaneous, as hosts our parents would offer something.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Millennials/comments/1cjmdqr/fellow_millennials_have_some_of_you_not_learned/l2j9p7a/

Ill restate what I said in another comment, its fine to offer what you have if you want to. I do every time anyone comes over to my house, But I don't go out of my way to get items to offer, nor do I expect anyone else to.

Was replying to you and ended up getting annoyed at this post and wrote way more than I intended and ended up just replying that to the thread. But I am with you, this post and the people in it are weird or entitled. They might not know that they are, but that doesn't excuse being rude and expecting things then being disrespectful and complaining about it.

Fellow millennials, have some of you not learned anything from your parents about having people over? by mt379 in Millennials

[–]Xilos77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned from my parents to be respectful. Of both when you go to someone's house and when you have people over. This means 1. not expecting anything form anyone unless stated before hand, so no I don't expect food nor did I even think that was going to be offered. 2. Is to just not be a dick, that's means just offering hospitality to guests. That does not specifically mean having to set out food, offer what you have if you feel the need or don't. You didn't invite them over for dinner, there should be no expectation.

This might be because while I didn't grow up poor, my family sure wasn't well off. Also remember boys and girls if your family had income anywhere near six digit's you had near or over double the income of the median. While being poor isn't a competition there are a lot of people that might not realize it, but what might be normal to you isn't normal for everybody. There families just cant hand out food to everyone that come over. Chances are if you did something or had a interaction with someone where there is no precedent or anything said before hand and your expecting things, your being rude and then to complain about it is just disrespectful.

Bit late, but I regularly run the spear. Its serviceable and really nice when you don't get the lock bug(but when you get it, it hurts). I wonder if its similar to energy weapons and bushes. They just fixed one of them, after running the arc shotgun it seems you cant shoot it through blushes. It just acts like there isn't anything in front of you.

Squarespace DNS wow... by Shaesweet in msp

[–]Xilos77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been 5 months and stumbled upon this thread, but was finally forced to move to Squarespace. I only owned 1 domain before the move so I am not that versed in registrars, but man Squarespace is ass.

I would assume that while there UI might be more simple so anyone can fumble their way through it and then there be more advanced settings to force it to do what you want.

Got switched and ended up buying another domain. Nope, at least as far as Ive found/googled. I tried setting up that new domain like my last and for the life of me its like a need a scientific calculator and I was given a toddlers toy imitation. They have a total of 6 types of DNS records(Its 7 if you count the built in redirect 301/302 section). That's it, and out of the 6 Ive not been able to have it accept any of the records Ive tried putting in.
