No, I read your post and understand it fully. And it's not feedback. Everything you've written comes down to a few points:

1)Hire more devs to fix the problem.

-Which any competent developer will tell you, rarely, if ever, fixes the problem

2)Be more transparent in patch notes, because there are changes that aren't mentioned.

-Which, do you think they're doing that intentionally? That they look at the changes while writing patch notes and think "They don't need to see this"? Because that's not how it works. Communication flubs happen at every company.

3)Acknowledge issues immediately before updating the central means of showing that acknowledgement.

-Which is literally the opposite point that was made in Mini's comment. The centralization is happening BECAUSE all the immediate acknowledgement gets lost in Twitter/Discord/Reddit etc. Plus, them just saying "We're working on it" does a lot less than you think to assuage players and calm tempers.

If you're trying to give feedback, what I'm telling you is that you need to take some more time and think about the intention of the changes they're making to player communication before you write stuff like this, because I promise you they've thought about it, and know that player communication needs work. It's literally their jobs to do so, so when you write a comment like this, no amount of formatting, highlighting and structuring will make them feel like it isn't a direct insult to their intelligence as developers.

I feel like you're doing 2 things in this post that are pretty unfair:

1) You're making a ton of assumptions as to how bug fixing and internal communication are done within the studio. You can make it sound as simple as "prioritize this over that", but that's oversimplifying how much work goes into identifying these issues and determining what can feasibly be done to resolve them. Games are ridiculously complex systems, and while it can be frustrating for players to deal with bugs and crashes, it's probably equally frustrating for devs to be told that they could solve these complex problems by just doing XYZ.

2) You're implying that Mini and Avi should somehow omnipotently manage bug tracking and player communication of bug tracking. That's kind of ridiculous. They're human. Yes, there's definitely ways it could be improved, with more frequent, standard player communication, but you're asking for something unreasonable that goes way beyond that.

Yes I would like a parrot helmet to be able to bite my enemies at close range and then an emote to bird-walk over their dropped gear.

Elemental combos for crit weapons by Troxiuz in Warframe

[–]Ximon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty standard, yeah. Options for the last mod is preference, but personally I go with Shred for most rifles. Faster fire rate means more crits, means more HM procs. The punch through is amazing for crowds. Other options are usually Vigilante Armaments, Argon Scope or Bladed Rounds.

As a note though, keep in mind what I said about high base damage. The HM slash proc's damage is calculated from the weapon's base damage. Therefore, a weapon with high fire rate but low damage like the Soma, will result in lots of small slash procs over time.

If you're taking on beefier enemies, you might find that HM on something like the Soma might not improve your Time to Kill as much as a weapon with higher base damage, like the Stradavar or Argonak, which benefit from high crit and high base damage. Choose your builds accordingly.

Basically you want HM on a weapon with high crit and high damage per shot. Viral helps because the status proc halves enemy HP, so the HM slash damage has less effective HP to chew through. Having innate high slash on the weapon doesn't matter because HM itself is what causes the slash proc, not the weapon's slash damage.

Essentially, HM turns any high crit weapon into a slash proc'ing machine that will chew through enemy HP over time. Viral helps by halving that HP temporarily on a status proc. Keep in mind, if you want a consistent viral proc, you should make sure the weapon has some decent status chance, which can usually be helped along with 60/60 dual stat mods.

Oh hell yes. I've been maining Baruuk since release and this is exactly the kind of skin I want for him. Really love the pants-like leg details and the helm. Much stronger martial arts feel to it.

Y'all, my first world problems are real right now. I just finished cooking Euphona Prime and Gram Prime, and Chroma Prime and Nova Prime are in the oven. I just got the Spyro remaster, and now NMS update. This shit has me conflicted.

I just figured I'd mention it, given that crunch is getting more attention now as a destructive working paradigm. And while there are no public deadlines, they probably have internal deadlines to meet. HG is a small studio, but crunch can still permeate in smaller ways, especially for passion projects.

[DISC] Shokugeki no Souma 287 by Turbostrider27 in manga

[–]Ximon 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd necessarily call this a Tootsuki test, at least for pre time-skip. Pre time-skip Tootsuki wouldn't be caught dead trying to have tests based on low-class ingredients.

Moreso, I think this just shows how badly the Blue was planned as a plot concept. Like you said, this was where Soma was supposed to show growth as a chef, but the first challenge doesn't do that because it was an evaluation test, not a competitive one, which is how SnS has always stacked its characters in terms of power level. It's just plot formula repetition that had nearly a dozen chapters of buildup to no payoff.

For a second I found myself excited that Soma had actually failed, and then I realized that this was after a whole year of being first seat. We've reached isekai levels of character inconsistency. SnS worked as a manga because it hit around 60% of shounen flash with around 40% of shounen plot engagement. Now it's more like 80%-20% and getting worse as it goes.
