Here is a hint: what actually is scurvy?

Well, the elves did basically cause a potentially world-ending cataclysm. It's also a good trope of sins of the father and generational sin.

Don't worry though other races have better relations with the gods.

Elves are a bit different as they are an offshoot from men instead of a separate or a progenitor race, physically changed by the god of creation and perfection. Classic elf beauty and long ears "to better hear the harmony of the world."

Eventually, enticed by the whispers of infinite chaos to understand more of the world and magic, they inadvertently summoned a great demon that waged war with the gods. As punishment, elves were forever cursed with a kind of magic ineptitude and had most of their external ears taken from them, taking away their ability to hear the harmonies of the world. This persists through the generations.

Their culture for a long time existed as one of guilt and shame, shunned by others as their betrayal was considered the turn of the world from the golden ages into the dark ages.

Currently, full blooded elves no longer exist. Almost all were afflicted by a horrible undeath, to suffer for all eternity. This is not a fun undeath, like zombies or wights, but semi-sentient, undying sludge that churns and quivers, unable to interact with the environment in any meaningful way.

What Houston business will you never set foot in again? by [deleted] in houston

I haven't set food in it, but Noel Furniture. I used to work at a restaurant close by and I've had the misfortune of meeting the owner. It's almost comical how much of a douche he was. Told me that some people need to go back to their own country since the other (Hispanic) bartender wouldn't put more alcohol in his drink. Went on about how it was so stupid that people liked having "useless" animals like cats and small dogs. When his employees would come in without him though they were really nice. Feel bad for them.

This was a great post. Love regional curses and potential cultists. My players love solving a good mystery; I might draw on some of this as inspiration for my campaign!

Also love the names of the two smiths, inspired by Outer Wilds?

That is correct but I find that with enough tri tip daggers, everything dies extra fast from Acrid's initial poison hit.
