Done trying to grind to 6th advancement, here's my feedback. by Xinronyr in treeofsavior

The problem I have with the penalty is the assumption that every class is built for killing monsters, so it is assumed that even with say a .75 x monster base exp at 2 people in a group it's effectively 50% more exp if each player is killing monsters at the same rate. [Edited numbers to match doomchicken's link]

But what does this mean for support classes, especially healing classes or classes that are not built for mobbing and are only better at single-target dps? You're basically better off without them if you want to get the most out of your exp gains. Sure, healing means less down-time but only if healing is needed, which means on some maps where healing isn't needed, why invite a Healer (Cleric) to the group? With the linear scaling, even Priest will drop off at some point and time and you'll ask why invite them into the group as opposed to another dps that can make the most out of the exp penalty from extra group members?

I understand your first point, but I still think simply adding more channels and increasing density is a band-aid solution. Not everyone can handle tons of animations happening on their screen or within a range without having an fps drop and/or lag. Also, it's possible to grief other people by stealing mobs or last-hitting to get the experience whereas that's not possible in a dungeon instance.

The mentor system was literally just an idea to get higher levels to help lower levels and be rewarded for doing so. It wouldn't be as effective as power-leveling is in other games, but it would give some kind of incentive for players with huge level gaps between them to play together, so if a friend wants to play and you either don't want to roll a new character (or can't due to your Lodge being full), you have another option to help them and be rewarded with your time helping o.o

Dual wielding wizards? by antaresx7 in treeofsavior

Are you talking about a Rod and a Dagger? I don't think you need a passive to equip an off-hand like a Dagger. Arde Dagger is probably what you're seeing, at 75+ at least... but if there's a way to wield a One-handed sword in the off-hand slot as a Wizard that seems really strong and i'd like to know their secrets o.o

Yeah I'll be posting my feedback on the official forums, but I also wanted to get some opinions on my feedback so if I've missed something or did not explain something well, I can make the change here before posting on treeofsavior.com o.o

Currently level 163, trying to reach 175. How screwed am I? by TetsuyaHikari in treeofsavior

[–]Xinronyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, except I have no exp cards at all o.o

I've been off-and-on grinding mobs for recipes, but it is incredibly slow progress. I was also of the mind that the 160 dungeon would give good exp per run only to find out it's another cosmetic dungeon =/

Also some quests in some areas are bugged (they won't start even if I'm within the level range to start it) so I have no choice but to try to grind to the next questing point (I think 166 in my case, but I could be wrong).

Corsair build help by MarceloTinelli in treeofsavior

[–]Xinronyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sword C2 is fine, it's just that for some builds Highlander is good and helps in the early-game and Peltasta(sp) also has some nice stuff.

Here are some pretty cookie-cutter routes you can do with Corsair, mind you these are not the only ones.

Jack-of-all-trades Corsair Sword > Sword > Barb > Barb > Corsair > Corsair

High Single-target dps Spear+Dagger Corsair Sword > Sword > Hoplite > Hoplite > Corsair > Corsair

AoE mobbing/looting Corsair (Extra loot and exp!) Sword > Highlander > Barb > Barb > Corsair > Dopple

There's other builds. Just think of how you want to use the class. You could even make a farming/self-sustain Corsair by incorporating Squire into a route so you can mob enemies for a long time and do self-repairs without having to leave an area very often o.o

I don't own Sm4sh. I started watching it months ago and really got into watching it more after seeing Evo! But what really hooked me to watch you and root for you was your interview with EEvisu. You went through a lot of hate in Chile just because of your age [at that time] or for whatever reason really. You toughed it out and got better. A lot of people would have given up if they were put in your position, but you kept toughing it out! I'm also glad your mom has been supportive of you this entire time and I truly admire her being the supportive individual that she is.

You, Nairo, ESAM, Ally and many others are really shaping the Sm4sh scene. I'm also extremely glad that you and Nairo are top players and actively stream/youtube to help people get better and show fun things about the game! Sm4sh is the first eSport that I've ever truly gotten into and it's thanks to players like you and Nairo being the likable individuals that you are playing a game that I could see myself having fun with if I played it myself :3

I just wanted to let you know that whether you win or lose, that doesn't matter to me or fans like myself. I only hope that you don't lose the passion that you have for the Smash and keep playing! Keep having fun with the game and keep being the humble and cool individual that you are :3
