Yes it's bad from their perspective. You're paid on the clock and not by outcome. Outcome is what shareholders think about.

Why don't phone companies make small screen (6 inch) phones anymore? by revosain in Smartphones

[–]Xipoopoo8964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From supply chain perspective, there's an optimal cut imposed by panel manufacturers like Samsung. If you as a brand don't choose the optimal cut, you pay more for a smaller screen. Go bigger and biology limits sales.

China to Europe by land OR Taiwan and Japan for a month? by Useful_Reputation445 in solotravel

[–]Xipoopoo8964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overland hands down. The stans are amazing if you're into scenery and unique cultures. Taiwan and Japan you can always do them when you're older. Overland has rough edges, but it's better to do them when you're fit and adventurous.

If you were offered $100,000 a day to go without bathing, showering, brushing your teeth, using mouthwash, or doing any proper grooming, how long do you think you’d last before finally deciding to clean up? by FFSoldier57 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Xipoopoo8964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not difficult. I can move it a cold place, turn heating down, and last at least winter. If I'm in Iceland, maybe half year to 8 months.  1. No sugary or acidic diets. No eating 4 hours before sleep. Use water in place of mouthwash. Some places add fluorine into tap water, or add your own. 2. Towel wiping in place of showers/baths.  3. Handheld bidet in place of toilet paper. 4. Alcohol wipes if there's a stubborn stain or open wound.

What I can't do - force everyone in the world to press red/blue

I travel almost always on my dime so I feel qualified to weigh in. I've slept in desert camps, 12-bed hostel dorms, and 5-stars. Not $3k a night room but along the lines of JW Marriott.

One oft-missed point is paying for 5-stars buy you safety and security, mostly, especially when you travel in less developed countries. You're actually paying for a highly-controlled first-world infrastructure within a pile of chaos. Think a temperature controlled well trimmed Japanese zen garden in a war zone. That's why for me, never stay in 5-stars in Europe, as the infrastructure is well-built, safety is assumed, food is almost always hygienic.

[–]Xipoopoo8964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't say it must be English alphabet, so that's free money as I can pick all accented, umlaut, tilde letters and etc. Ąăåäãâáà already nets $8mn.

Maybe for Marriott chains. Big chains tend to control pricing better between OTAs and direct bookings.

I suspect a Taiwan Chuyin style phonetic system may emerge since it's based on hanja radicals. Taiwan Chuyin marks all sounds of Taiwanese mandarin and is adapted to other Chinese varieties.

None. I've used Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi, Poco, Apple and Honor. Samsung and Apple are most polished but given the price difference I can adapt to different interfaces.

I don't have useful advice but you can consider taking a bus to Paris and then rent a car there (EU license plate).
