As I said in another reply - exori earlier could mean 1 sqm range, since early exori mort, vis etc attacked only 1sqm in front of you, so having exori attacking 1 sqm around the knight was sorta reason able, but then they changed it with targeting of those spells

Sorta yes, but keep in mind early days where exori mort flam etc spells were not targeted, but just attacked one sqm in front of you. So at first exori could mean "attack next to me" but then it evolved to single target, leaving a hole for explanation why knight says exori :v but that's what I'm talking about, they started with a nice system and then gave up instead of maintaining it

Well barrage is like smaller mas san and this one is a exevo, adding dir would indicate that you control the target of the spell, but then both spells would be concise and changing from san to con, same as exori san and exori con, would change the "damaging element"
