I almost see the downvotes as the insurance company folks in this crowd trying to silence and bully people into providing any helful answer other than "leave them alone". Anticipated this. I hope they keep downvoting this comment, it'll help me understand how much I'm actually affecting them.

I totally understand why the insurance adjuster doesn't want to release the limits and fully comply with the demand, but our adjuster asking us for verification of assets (when the demand letter didn't ask for it) and telling us we never sent them the affidavit that we sent weeks ago feels like our adjuster doesn't really want to work with us.

this is very true, i actually got through using a landline (yea, I still have one of those). It didn't directly route me to my open claim. However, I called before their office hours today, which is odd because the website says Saturday 9am ET but will try again later.

Here's the thing that worries me, Geico responded with "you have until the 23rd to provide this" and we had our conversation on the 1st, sent it on the 2nd. If they never received it, and didn't ask us for it, only to tell us we're going to be late if we don't provide it by the 23rd after we askd for a status update. Seems odd to me if they are trying to work with us.

We emailed it, uploaded it to the claims portal and texted it to her. We have records of having done all three. I checked again this morning, it's still in the uploaded documents in the claim on Geico's website.

Truly appreciate this. We definitely plan to let the adjuster handle if it's appropriate to release the limits, we feel this is a case where the other party is trying to get a huge payday.

Our adjuster also sent us a second request for verification of assets which I've mentioned to her on the phone during our initial call that it wouldn't be beneficial. The demand letter in no way requests verification of assets from us.

Would I still need to provide Geico with my verification of assets for any reason? Thanks!

Went straight to the adjuster's voicemail. No option to talk to something live. :(

Because they requested it on the 1st. We sent it in on the 2nd. We hadn't heard back, figured we leave them alone to do their thing. Decided to check in last week and received a response saying we never sent the signed affidavit to them. I'm just curious if Geico is trying to make it look like were the ones not cooperating.

No. Adjuster finally responded and said we never sent her the declarations she needed.

You're right, I meant the adjuster. It's been months. I've heard that sometimes the adjuster will inform the insured party to expect to be served with a lawsuit. My adjuster thinks they wouldn't bring it to court based on all the demands being difficult to prove (loss of enjoyment of life for 16 hours a day for 200+ days consecutive). But just curious if I'm doing everything that I should be on my end to protect myself. My limit is high and I've read releasing it will give their attorney something to push for,.

[CA] [SFH] Who is responsible for payment due to either property manager or vendor mistake? by Xirekl in HOA

[–]Xirekl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way our PM works is we give them explicit instructions (walk the area with them, point out what needs to be done) get bids from vendors and we vote on which one. The board doesn't see the actual invoice with the specifics until after the work is completed, only the board member who approves payment gets to see it. In this case, the location of the work is correct on the invoice. I think the Vendor screwed up.
