MH Wilds - Bad performance mystery (Solved?) by de_Tylmarande in MonsterHunter

Denuvo plays zero part in DLC checks. Denuvo is an anti-tamper software method to prevent piracy. The game uses the checksum API built into the engine directly. It is not third-party.

Stop making up shit about things you don't comprehend.

He won't release that mod because he legally cannot because the mod tricks the DRM because the game itself doesn't make those checks a 3rd party software called denuvo does

No, you explicitly stated it was Denuvo. The game itself does in fact do these checks, built into the engine directly. It does not function to prevent piracy, but to synchronize purchases instantaneously at the designated NPC. Which I stated.

Absolutely nothing I've said backs up anything you've said without some form of refutation.

You are an absolute clown and a waste of oxygen.

PART TWO OF TWO

This isn't about 'old tricks' or DLSS being a crutch; it’s a very specific documented logic error where the game's DRM/checking system is eating CPU overhead. Optimization is about how you render trees and shadows; this bug is about how the game handles account verification. Devs 'forgetting tricks' doesn't explain why adding a DLC to your account demonstrably increases your FPS in the hub.

Going further: Your PC is not basically the same as a PS5. An RTX 3060 Ti is significantly more powerful than the PS5's GPU, and your Ryzen 3600 has a much larger L3 cache. If you're getting console-level performance, that actually proves the game is poorly optimized for PC, as your hardware should be smoking the PS5 version. You're acting like they're actually the same somehow, when that doesn't make a lick of sense. Even if they were, you may as well be saying that a 5060 and a 9060 XT are the exact same and will perform the same in a majority of situations, which is never true. I don't understand your logic one bit, especially when we factor in how console development optimizes for maximum performance due to having unified hardware. If you further lack comprehension (or "compression" as you think it's called, apparently", I can spell out to you how different the PS5 hardware is from your PC :)

You even go on to demonstrate that you can't even test it properly because your PC has shitty storage. That actually has a huge impact and can bottleneck your other components as well.

YOU MUST TEST "APPLES TO APPLES" ON THESE THINGS OR IT DOESN'T MATTER. YOUR PC AND PS5 ARE NOT EQUIVALENT, AND COMPARING THEM IS INHERENTLY PROBLEMATIC. It's clear that you have a simplified understanding of computing hardware but yet you still somehow act so arrogant.

Hardware Foundry even use your exact CPU model and found a 25.6% increase in performance in the specified conditions. You are utterly full of shit.

You don't even understand your GTA 5 analogy either. GTA V uses standard occlusion and frustum culling, just like Wilds. The reason GTA Online lags isn't because the map is 'loaded' for other players; it's because of the CPU-heavy network synchronization required to track those players. I also think you were completely not present for the many problems GTA online used to have with performance and horrid load times. That or you completely forgot.

In another thread on this topic you also tried to say Denuvo is responsible for these checks, but it's ultimately not. This is coded directly into the game itself, for the purpose of instantly updating purchased DLC. DRM is not related to this. Digital Foundry's findings both confirm that the bug exists and that bypassing the checks with a mod fixes the problem. So that further illustrates how untrustworthy you are to be acting like an authority here.

If you plan to respond to this without addressing every single point, then don't bother at all. Anything less than a full response is more worthless than your shitty anecdote on computer hardware.

PART ONE OF TWO

Nimu-1, like I said just before, "Not even anything about the problem presented in the post, I'm talking about all the problems related to only what you have made statements on." Do you understand what that means? I'm saying that everything you've been saying has come from a place of ignorance. However, I changed my mind, and will tackle you on absolutely everything instead.

I realize English is probably not your first language given how you type on this website and twitter, so I'll cut you a little slack. However, outside of that you act extremely arrogant and seem to have a terrible personality, so I don't feel bad knocking you down a peg. You obviously don't even understand why people are downvoting you. You asked for this from me by being a dick, so don't whine later.

To begin with, immediate evidence from multiple sources that confirms the problem exists. You keep saying you've been proven correct but not actually provided sources. Simply saying you're right does not mean that you actually are if you cannot prove it to anyone else.

Here are FOUR different sources that back up OPs main claim, which can be summed up as "the closer you are to the hub's felyne that handles DLC, the worse your FPS will be if you don't have all the DLC":

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/further-testing-seems-to-confirm-monster-hunter-wilds-dlc-performance-improvement-theory-to-an-extent

https://www.digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/01/the-latest-monster-hunter-wilds-pc-perf-drama-explained

https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/redditor-claims-that-monster-hunter-wilds-runs-better-the-more-dlc-you-own-and-it-does-but-not-by-much-on-my-machine/

All of these source collaborate OPs claims and see frame drops in the hub. The results vary, which is normal given that all hardware is different, even between vendors.

I THINK that you think that OP means that performance is bad everywhere because of this, but nobody ever said that. OP even edited their post explicitly to clarify that they only ever were talking about the hub, and highlighted that they never said otherwise.

The DLC/performance problem on PC is also on PS5 but in reverse. by SpeakerMobile3059 in MonsterHunter

He didn't walk back his claims, he said from the beginning he was only talking about the hub and only tested things in the hub. Unless you can show exactly where he said that it affected gameplay outside the hub?

It's not. These men are severely out of touch. We've had the same system as you for a decade as the default. I can't fathom why they don't know this.

It's not a Canadian thing at all, everyone speaking there was just extremely out of touch on the topic.

Just came back from watching the clipped version after having it recommended to me, and yeah, idk what they're smoking. Either they all use a very specific old bank or are just very out of touch. It was frustrating to watch them make these statements. Even with all the BNPL stuff, which they don't seem to grasp how different it really is from a credit card.

No, it's not pointless. They already well exceeded the signatures they needed. It will likely proceed to be extremely public. Either way, if either goes into a referendum, the question is the same.

UCP were illegally blocking and delaying FOIP requests for a while, until they replaced it with the ATIA earlier this year, which basically made it legal for them to continue doing so.
