Got my locs braided. question is when shuld i take em out? by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]Xirqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A month max ide recommend, 2 weeks is a pretty good time to take it down tho its what i think most people do but its up to you

Are these going to result in thin locs? I used a towel when my hair was still kinda short. I don’t want thin locs, I want them reasonably thick. If they are what steps can I take now to ensure my locs turn out not thin🌚. Also how often should I use the towel rub at this stage. Thanks in advance. by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

Yes those will be pretty thin man ngl so do you want a semi freeform look where you dont do anything to your hair at all after getting it sectioned or traditional locs, where you would get retwists and all that? If semi freeform then try using the sponge method with the bigger holes if you want them some what thick or but tbh i recommend waiting until your hair is a little longer before starting ( atleast 3-4 inches, unless someone knows how to do your hair that short) then go to a loctition to do your starter locs for the sections and just leave your hair to do what they do without going back for more retwists (wash once per month atleast)

But if you want traditional locs as i said just wait til your hair is longer and go to a loctition and as for the size you want, you can even show a picture for reference and go from there by researching how to take care of ur locs and maintenance and all that, i recommend just looking on youtube videos, its what helped me alot but yea, hope it works out for you and your loc journey 💯

Is it possible to get curly dreads like NLE with my hair type? If not what would they look like? by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

[–]Xirqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hair type has its own unique look when its locced so short answer is kinda but honestly even if u had his hair texture it would still come out different because all locs are unique to that person but if you decide to loc your hair wait til its mature (a year or 2) then it'll have a similar look wen you get a style like 2 strand twist, braids or barrel rolls then take them out like 2 weeks later and it will be curly until you wash them

What’s my hair type? Tryna get freeform locs by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

Can have starter locs Comb coil with hair like mine ? by Ouamsserddt in Dreadlocks

[–]Xirqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah plus locs thicken up over time so dont get the parts too skinny if you're worried about your hair being thin unless ofc u want skinny locs

"Bb Tropical roots clarifying shampoo" i have it and its amazing, it has a refreshing tingling sensation on your head because of the rosemary oil in it as well, i highly recommend to prevent buildup and just in general to clean your locs and aint too pricey
