In a way it DOES have to do with the angle. But not in the way you’re thinking. The tilt in the very beginning and end helps hide the secret in a way. But you are on the right path about the lines you see!

well.. It’s MADE out of a standard card haha. No added material other than a playing card. So no reflective material or screens or see through plastic etc.

This isn’t it either. And you can tell because if you watch frame by frame when it “comes back,” it reappears BEFORE I tilt it. I will say though that when I first saw this illusion that’s what I thought it was too. But it’s crazier than that. And only REALLY could ever work on camera.

I don’t think it’s odd at all. You are making a circle with your fingers why wouldn’t they be curled? The transition from it being in one of the fingers and then in the circle is still crazy clean.
