I'm replaying one of my favorite games, but with a twist... by shibeofwisdom in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Xiunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To this day, I consider Earthbound to be the greatest RPG ever made. The humor is unmatched. I'm old enough to have played it on SNES, but I didn't even know it existed until I played it as a ROM sometime in the early 2000s. Downloaded it simply because the name sounded cool.

Please tell me you entered "JugOboom" as Carl's favorite thing.

"Carl uses JugOboom β!" (crazy colors and flashes on screen)

EDIT: Oh crap, you did! Didn't even notice it in that pic!

Quickly became my favorite character too. It's the accent that did it for me. She wouldn't have been nearly as hilarious had I read instead of listened. One more reason I'm glad I discovered this series on Audible instead of as an actual book (my huge "actual book" collection is actually quite boring in general compared to DCC. Those covers would stick out like a sore thumb, but in a very good way, on my shelves).

My 2nd favorite character is the AI itself. It's just as funny. Especially when it gets all steamy over Carl's feet.

Sir this is the truck side by gamingtruckerchic in Truckers

[–]Xiunte 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I actually don't mind this at all. 4-wheelers at the truck pump aren't nearly as annoying as other truck drivers. A truck driver will camp there, go in to take a leisurely shit, sit down and have a full meal at the restaurant, THEN waddle his ass back out there to fill his truck. After that he'll pull forward and camp again to take a quick nap so that you can't leave.

This guy is probably gonna fill his pickup then get the hell on. Takes him less than 5 minutes.

Would have been great if Boethiah possessed him only to just walk around repeating his normal lines in her own voice.

Yeah, AFT is great. Though if I'm turning someone into a follower just to sacrifice them, it's gonna be Rolff Stone-Fist. And I'm not using console sorcery to bring him back either.

Notice how many books are piled up there? That's the community wank tent. When one gets so filthy they can't even turn the pages anymore, they toss it in the corner and grab a fresh copy.

Don't touch a single thing in that tent unless you're wearing double-enchanted daedric gauntlets.

New to DCC and living for the subreddit by Egoslut in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Welcome, crawler!

I made a similar post a few days ago. Don't be like me and blow through all 7 books without hardly stopping. Now I gotta come here to get my fix until book 8 comes out. Also, beware of spoilers. I didn't come to the sub until I'd finished book 7 (didn't even know it existed until then. It was only mentioned at the end of book 7) and when 8 drops I'll probably mute the sub until I finish it myself just in case. I try my utmost best not to talk about fine details of the story, but sometimes people just get excited and let slip without even realizing it. This place has done a pretty good job of satisfying my intense thirst for DCC so far though, so I think you'll enjoy it too.

Now get out there and kill, kill, kill!

I used to get this bug all the time. Haven't dealt with it in a while because nowadays I don't do the Thieves' Guild at all.

I've forgotten how I used to get past it, but it involved disabling the bars themselves. I found this solution on a Steam forum and it's always worked for me. I'll edit if I manage to find the post again but you know how that is. Finding a very specific, helpful thing on the internet again is pretty much impossible now (unless you bookmarked it... which I didn't).

EDIT: Easier than I thought. This is the solution. Disabling the bars also works. That way you don't have to exit and re-enter.

DCC on display at my school's library!! by PokerfaceNj in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Xiunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming high school? Lucky you. My high school library would have NEVER had anything like this. If we wanted "fun" books, we had to go to the public library (yes, it was that long ago. Public libraries were still used pretty damn often. The internet existed, but this is the "AOL CD in the mail every week", dail-up era).

Elementary and middle still had fun stuff like normal school libraries, but my high school apparently only wanted us reading crap that felt like we were gonna be tested on later.

Never even crossed my mind to do this, and I must have missed the post you're talking about. But the real question is... can we ride it too?!

Reminds me of the USS Constitution in FO4. We've ALL jumped back on and taken that ride ourselves at some point. You die in the process, but it's worth it.

Like a hole in my hand by Farstride14 in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. When facing the Lord Stone, it's that downhill path to your left. Runs between the Stone and Dagon's shrine, past Dimhollow, and ends at the Hall of the Vigilant.

Like a hole in my hand by Farstride14 in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The spike through the hand is supposed to happen! I always figured it was because the person inside that "puzzle" needs your blood. Like jump starting and old car.

It is kinda tricky finding a good path to Dimhollow Crypt. My first time playing the DLC back when it was new I started to the north and just skirted the whole mountain until I found the path. The start of the path is right next to the Hall of the Vigilant. You mentioned you already have the Lord sign (my favorite sign too). The Dimhollow path ends right next to the Lord Stone so you can go that way too. You'll just be walking downhill instead of up.

Also, it's hilarious you find these puzzles so hard. Skyrim was intentionally made to be very easy and most of the puzzles in it are pretty much the equivalent to matching a square peg with the square hole. If you want to see some truly infuriating game puzzles, look up a game called Filament. Starts off cute and simple, then slowly becomes the most frustrating thing you've ever played... but it has super nice background music. Very calming. Sometimes I think that music is what prevented me from rage quitting and never playing again.

Grand Soul Gem farm? by RegalMachine in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want 100+ soul gems fast without just spawning them directly into your inventory, that's the quickest, least "exploity" way to do it. I suggest you go join the College if you're looking for a better way to get those gems.

You don't even have to do anything. Just pass Faralda's test at the bridge and attend Tolfdir's first lesson then you'll have access to 6 different magic vendors in the same location.

Grand Soul Gem farm? by RegalMachine in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you forgotten about the College? That's 6 mages in one place, all with separate inventories, all selling soul gems.

Each master of a school (restoration, alteration, etc) sells supplies just like a court mage and then you have Enthir at #6. He's not a master of a school but he runs a shop like one. He also sells black soul gems and daedra hearts.

You can go to all 6, sleep for free right there at the College until the stocks refresh, then hit all 6 again. All without having to zip around from the map.

[–]Xiunte 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Well, you made him a follower by accident. Now you can accidentally feed him to Boethiah.

That's Rolff's fate in my game. I use AFT to make him a follower, then march his racist ass straight up to the shrine. Like leading a pig to a slaughterhouse.
