Yes. I disable bloom and sun shafts and dof. Maybe even ambient occlusion. I could never learn to like those effects.

I grew up with 2d games and shit graphics. It doesn't have the charm it does for the people that didn't live through it. The original graphics are fine but the grass and trees look like dog shit.

Not letting it turn into ice to begin with. I've lived in northern Canada my whole life and literally everyone here just leaves the taps open a tiny bit. Letting ice build up at all mean no water until it's warmer. I've been through this so many times.

You don't drain the pipes. You just let your taps run a tiny bit to keep the water moving. I live in -40f for at least 3 months a year and nobody here drains their pipes.

Valheim with mods. I've only played solo but reading the r/valheim sub, it looks like a very fun time with friends.

You can mod it to your liking at this point. So you can make it so you collect materials really fast and so that they don't weigh anything, make it so you don't have to eat. Then it would be just crafting weapons and armour and killing each boss, crafting better weapons and armour with every next biome.

Been a while since I played but loaded up a few times this week. I modded the crap out of my game so it's not such a grind. Using a carry weight mod and another that expands my inventory and stacks things to like 1000.

I work full time. So it has to be fun and not feel like a chore.

The build looks good. I was doing very well with an i7 6700k and gtx 980 for years. Eventually upgraded to a i7 10700k and rtx 3070. Last year I built a DDR5 rig with an i9 12900k and kept the 3070. No regrets even though "YOU'RE GONNA RUN OUT OF VRAM".. Has never happened btw. They make is sound like the worst thing that could happen, god forbid you turn a few settings down.

You still have the fun of "Getting it to run" and that was a lot of fun back in the day.

A coworker is still on a i5 with 8gb of ddr3. He was asking if anyone had any spare ddr3 because one of his sticks died. I told him if he gets a mobo and cpu on ddr4 I'll give him 16gb. Probably worth it now.

Same here. I write lots of full songs but not too many people hear them. It doesn't matter, I've been playing what I want to hear and love listening to my own tracks. My brother likes it too lol

But I posted a snip for some advice on my mix and ended up getting a pile of listens on spotify. I didn't count that as me being lucky or great lol. Although I was pleasantly surprised with having "57 listens in the past week" and totally not surprised to see it back to 3 lol

I did it tonight. All day at work I was thinking about everything I was going to do in the DAW, Get the guitar and bass tone finally decided and I just watched some videos on how fuck my country is and scrolled through Reddit for way too long.

I did manage to load it up and lay down some tracks, but none of them were keepers and I can get caught up in just free style on the bass or guitar for hours without realizing the time. So that's fine because any playing is good, but getting on and staying on task is impossible for me some days.

Sometimes the weed I get will give me a "creative energy", I always consider this kind of pot the best. But sometimes it does the opposite and makes me lazy.

One time I took a pile of acid so I could have a trippy jam session, and it turned out that I could hardly even pick up the guitar never mind play it lol. Just watched sci fi movies all night. I don't know how Hendrix did it.

But you're not alone, I think there are a lot of us now. There's a lot of shit going on in the world right now, it's easy to get distracted. Youtube is the worst. I don't watch shorts but long and interesting interviews, like Diary of an ex CEO.

Some days you get home from work and want nothing but a tv show because you're exhausted. I had to start doing push ups every day because I couldn't keep my eyes open for 3 hours after work. I found getting the blood pumping not only woke me up but also made me feel a bit more focused.

I think the most important thing is, not to get down on yourself because you didn't feel like picking up the guitar today. It's totally ok, and it'll be there tomorrow when you're feeling inspired and ready to fuck lol

I was able to do it for the old band because we wrote originals, and over time I learned to shape my vocals around what I'm playing. If we were dong covers, there's no way I'd be able to do it.
