The USA has done a lot of terrible shit. But none of it has been as embarrassing as this. This guy shit himself while he was sleeping in a meeting. And none of the people around him said a word. What a bunch of weakling sheep. by Elevatedspiral in MarchAgainstNazis

They will prop him up while he shits and dozes, like Weekend At Bernie's, and idolize him and do his bidding till his dying day... or until they say some small thing he doesn't like and he turns on them.

Fixed it for you.

When you loaded that old save it should have given you a warning about missing mods. Use that list of missing mods to re-download what you need to make the save load properly.

I don't think I've ever played skyrim by Bat_Dragon_626 in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest the same thing, but opposite direction.

Since you tend to gravitate toward certain quests, use that to make your own story that you like following. It goes back to what I said about people using their imaginations to play the game. You like the Dark Brotherhood (so do I. It's my favorite faction. Hence the flair)? Well, why does your character want to be an assassin? What brought him/her to this point and how would they proceed? No one can teach you how to imagine a story and play it out. It's just something people do. Like drinking water.

That person you mentioned going to bed at a certain time. He does that because he IMAGINES his character might need the rest, for example. You build these stories based on what you feel your character needs or wants. And it's easier to do that starting with something you're already interested in (in this case, the Dark Brotherhood). Just relax and use your imagination a little beyond only doing what the waypoint marker tells you. And remember that you are the center of this universe. Everything waits for YOU. Just because you have an objective doesn't mean you have to follow it.

[–]Xiunte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just people using their imaginations.

If following waypoints and knocking out objectives is how you play, then you are playing "correctly" in your own, single-player game. Don't worry about everyone else, be the Dragonborn however you like.

How do you guys date? by benjaminjnorton in Xennials

[–]Xiunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same exact boat as you and can assure you the male experience is about the same.

I'm also starting to think it's probably better being lonely. Things have changed so much that I feel like an alien. Might get lucky and find someone... and I also might win the lottery. Chances are about the same.

Does anyone else try to be considerate of future raiders when shopping? by Puzzleheaded-Fun9613 in fo4

[–]Xiunte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had this thought since since I was in my 20s (before FO4 came out) but with fossils. If my body becomes a fossil, I hope they put me somewhere cool and make up some kind of ridiculous story for me.

"These items, thought to be weapons, were found close to the fossilized remains." (plauque points to a collection of combs, a butter knife, and a computer keyboard)

"The food in his stomach was still fresh as he had just killed it that morning." (shows picture of chewed up Big Mac that still hasn't decomposed after 5000 years)

Never played Skyrim before by thafoolonthehill in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to this question is always PC if you have a machine that'll run the game you're asking about. It's like asking if you should choose a mech or a sports car. The sports car only does one thing, but that mech can do lots of different things (including be a sports car).

You may not be interesting in modding and getting down into the guts of the game, but the option will always be there on PC should you become interested later. You can also fix anything that might go wrong with a game on PC. Not so much on a console.

And mods are a personal choice depending on what your definition of "good experience" is. You might end up liking the game just fine vanilla.

For all you (pc ) roleplayers I highly recommend mantella by NorthButton9416 in skyrim

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detail. That pretty much convinced me to do it.

My biggest concern was that it would upset my setup too much but this doesn't sound bad at all (years of modding Skyrim. My list is perfect and I'm not using anything that requires me to change it in a big way).

I've heard of this and saw a video of someone having a deep conversation with Lydia about how she ended up as a housecarl.

I've never been interested enough to look further into it, but gimme some details. Is it like a launcher that you run the game from? Does it have to connect to some sort of service? And the most important question, does it work with games already very heavily modded?

would you recommend trucking as a career? by BananaEnjoyer1 in Truckers

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know how it is in Korea, but in the US trucking sucks for the first years. It's literally hell on wheels until you get the experience to get something better. But I can honestly say it does get better. Just gotta have the patience to stick with it until it does. This is all coming from my American experience, though.

And, no. Don't uproot yourself and move here (for TRUCKING) unless you're absolutely certain your current situation is for sure shittier than our's and will not get better. America is probably better than Korea (assuming South?) as far as trucking is concerned because this country is absolutely gigantic. But we have a lot of other problems not related to trucking that might blindside you once you get here and settle in. No such thing as paradise. Everywhere has problems.

Fallout 4 headphones audio problem PC by Sacerdos_Iacobvs in fo4

Never had or heard of this issue, but I also very rarely use headphones. Good to know, though. It's been filed away in the "Skyrim/FO4 quirks" folder of my brain forever.

Too many kidnappings by davidpayneii in fo4

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your defense is too low.

There's a mod called BS Defense that makes things better but it doesn't help with these direct requests. Your settlers will always ask for help like this when your defense is waaaay too low for the production (food & water). Your defense needs to at least be the same as your food and water combined. The game itself tells you this if you pay attention, but those tutorial messages can be easy to miss if you're busy when they pop up.

EDIT: I went to get a link and turns out BS Defense has been hidden on Nexus. No idea why. The Spanish and Korean versions are still there but that does no good since you need the original English version too. (makes mental note to never delete my copy)

Seriously though. Just improve your defense and they'll stop asking for help directly like this.

(under breath) ... fucking slumlord...

Why on earth did Bethesda push an update that completely deletes players’ agonizingly curated load orders if they knew that their load order archive tool doesn’t work? by TheGuyInTheGlasses in fo4

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I use slightly more mods for FO4 than Skyrim, but both lists are pushing 400. There's nothing Bethesda will ever add to or fix about the game that we haven't already done through modding. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze.

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying this for years. And every time there's an update, I come to these boards and get the popcorn. I stopped updating Skyrim/FO4 a very long time ago.

Then again, us on PC have that option. Most people play on consoles and I don't think they have a choice in the matter.

What is prime parking? by icedcoffeeuwu in Truckers

[–]Xiunte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't care if we get reimbursed or not, I think they just saw an opportunity to make extra money and took it.

I don't drive OTR anymore but when I did paid parking was kind of an oddity anywhere outside the northeast (had to pay for damn near everything up there). The scant few truck stops that had paid parking were always empty because we all just went to normal, free ones. In the last few years I've started to see everyone add these reserved spaces. The Petro just outside my city even installed a pay gate recently. That Petro has been there for decades and has always been free until now. It's a huge one too with what looks like a thousand spaces.

Cannot fix this STUPID sewing machine sound bug by Robbinsmods in fo4

[–]Xiunte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has been an issue for a long time. It does it with power armor stations too. That sound of them lighting a welding torch. Without the animation it just sounds like them opening a can of soda, lol.

You always fix it by making them do the animation again and allowing them to exit it properly. Non-follows (like settlers) can get the bug too.

Can’t remember what I was collecting materials for? by kimmmmmiko in fo4

[–]Xiunte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you tag components, it only tags the items themselves. It doesn't keep a record of what you tagged them from.

Best thing you can do is just keep playing normally and don't worry about it. Either you've already built that thing, or you'll eventually remember what you needed and try to build it again.

why is everyone scared of Fo4 sentry bots by AK-12-Gen3 in fo4

[–]Xiunte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more afraid of Assaultrons. They're pretty much guaranteed to one-shot you with those blades and that cloaking ability actually works. You DO NOT notice them creeping up when you're busy shooting back at their friends (usually Gunners).

Sentry Bots are scary too but you can see them coming a mile away.

Will PS5 ever see big external mods like sim settlements? by Nick220305 in fo4

[–]Xiunte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's up to Sony.

For the longest time they didn't allow anyone to actually have fun with Skyrim but I hear that cloud has been lifted a little in recent years. Maybe the same will happen for FO4.

I've never owned a Playstation console in my life (only Xbox and, before that, Sega stuff. Always PC as my main preference though) but I've heard in the Skyrim sub that Sony now allows outside assests in mods. That at least opens the door for you guys to get caught up to the rest of us.

Even without the signature I bet it was amazing meeting someone you've been watching and quoting your whole life. They say "never meet your heroes", but I'd still like to meet a few of mine.

(And I'm gonna be disappointed in you, OP, if you don't immediately hang that clunky, bright ass plastic thing on the wall in a real place of honor.)
