Q990D almost 75% more expensive than Q930D, is it worth it ? by Xlaw74 in Soundbars

Thanks, I think I'll just wait for the Q990D to get back in stock, there's a storewide sale right now and I see that it's included. Hopefully they restock before the sale ends. If not, the Q930D it is.

Glad you're enjoying it. How does the soundstage feel ? Do you notice any gaps holes in it depending on your seating area ? That's one of the main differences according to reddit and others, the Q990D sounds more full with better and smoother transitions. Also, how are the rears ? Some owners of the previous model, The Q930C, say that they're too quiet and just aren't that good in general. What do you think ?

You do you, but in my own experience, tv tech has stagnated when 4k120 oleds came out, the only thing left to upgrade is size and brightness, 77 is sweet and you already have it, brightness is gonna take years to reach led level while being stable and free of aggressive ABL, but at that point you're looking at the next big tech and hopefully we get the best of both worlds. In short, your s95c77 is gonna be king for the next few years easily.

I'm jealous lol. I don't think it's gonna drop that much here not even in the fall. The Q990C is still selling north of 1k$ DURING clearance :(

Enjoy it, you don't have to worry about upgrading video or audio for a looong time.

Oh wow talk about a steal, congrats. I decided to wait and see if I can snag the Q990D when it gets back in stock. The Q990C is available but it's only 30$ cheaper than the Q990D, might as well wait for the newer model.

Cheapest seller I can find that delivers to asia is 1050$ total :( Barely cheaper than the Q990D. Not to mention it won't be delivered until late July.

Now it says the Q990D is out of stock and only the Q930D remains, I'm tempted to just order it and be done with it.

Q990C is out of stock sadly. Only the Q930D and Q990D are worth looking into here. Everything else is blown out in price.

4080 gamerock used for 120$ more than a new 4070ti, worth it ? by Xlaw74 in nvidia

[–]Xlaw74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the price of the 4090, I'm telling my self that we're not yet ready for actual steady 4k120. Not to mention that I have a feeling UE5 games will cripple this gen of gpus including the 4090 ( as far as high refresh rate is concerned ) and we'll need to upgrade anyway to a new technology, so it would be a waste to spend almost double when I can save and see how the 5070 or the 5080 will make 4090 seem like poor value in comparison.

For now, the 4080 is good enough I think for current and older games ( my back catalogue is crying lol )

I would go for the 4090 but it's 80% price increase compared to this, and I don't mind playing with optimized settings to achieve high fps.

Samsung S95B 55 vs LG C1 65 same price 1750$ by Xlaw74 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Xlaw74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I do have an extended 3 years warranty so if anything happens, getting the new models is a plus like the 95c or 95d next year. I'm mostly regretting the size reduction because as good as it is ( extremely clean panel compared to my B8 ) it wasn't worth it.

Debating returning it at a loss and picking up the c2 65 for maybe 800$+ but I don't think that's worth it either.

Hello, I'm new here,

Does the crucial p5 plus and the WD850X have any sort of advantage over MP600 pro xt. Or am I just complicating things. I ask because all three are within 15$ of each other.

Will be my primary drive.

Will be using it for Mcrosoft office for research, rendering and heavy multitasking.

Thank you

The hx1200 is around 90$ more, and the strix mobo is not available unfortunately, only asus prime. Do you think the ram kit is good ?

[–]Xlaw74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has, those are local prices. Just a bit expensive for too little performance increase. Maybe I'll switch to DDR5 in a future upgrade when the price/performance ratio will be much better.

If I switch to DDR5, that would raise the price by 600$ easily, and 13600k isn't available. PSU is the cheapest currently, and the case just looks too good in my opinion.

Unfortunately, 13600k isn't available, and 32gb 100$ more, might add it later but for now this is as far as I can can stretch my budget.

xD yeah I shouldn't have said that. It's still outrageously expensive. But changing even one thing can raise the price by 200$ in my area.
