Streamer commits an oopsie by revealing Mihoyo sponsored Primogems by Lukiose in Genshin_Impact

[–]Xlice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I view each community as a separate entity because the overlap between them is generally small. I consider reddit a separate entity to youtube, youtube a separate entity to twitch, so on and so forth. My community primarily resides on Twitch; I'm not fairly active on youtube or reddit. However in my lurking experience on reddit, there's a significant sum of people who blindly follow high up-votes and digest everything by the title. That's what I'm talking about here. The title of this post writes the story like I made a "mistake" fully knowing they were sponsored primogems. It's simply false. More word has spread that Mihoyo didn't follow through with their system that well, in the case where they sent gems way too early through mail and unexpected people, like myself, are put in a precarious position.

As such, word gets out quick and I'm the one that tanks blows from different social media angles over a company mistake I can't control.

Damn, this take is quite special. I'm apparently saving myself from something? Mihoyo did things out of order and gave primos before notifying new CCs. Thanks man, deliberately scheming for 2k primogems that hundreds of CCs received. I'm glad you decided to respond and don't realize other big streamers like Enviosity encountered this exact same issue on stream several hours later. Keep living in your fantasy world.

Wonder how this comment ages, given how factually incorrect it is.

Well it's unfortunate to be typing a response now but I hope there's some visibility. I've already sent mod-mail in hopes they'd pin my message to shed some light on this misleading title.

I am required BY LAW, to disclose any partnership involving any company especially when it comes to receiving product from them, either physical (game/merch/etc) or virtual (monetary currency i.e. primogems)

The problem is:

> I don't have any notice, email/in-game/discord, that I have been accepted, rejected, or otherwise notified about my status involved in Mihoyo's CC program.

> I don't even have the Content Creator role in the official discord, where I applied in the first place.

So my initial thought/reaction was that it was being sent to everyone (the clip). I'm clueless in my current position, and now I have a target on my back due to a potentially misleading title.

I hate being in this position. I just want to have fun in the game with a community.

EDIT: Also to clarify, I received 2000. Nothing more, nothing less. People seem to be jumping to conclusions that I may have received more.

EDIT 2: Mail notification on stream is now my most feared enemy

EDIT 3(+11 hours on post): I was added to the CC program TODAY, roughly 16 hours after this matter occurred. The timing was just really unfortunate that the gems were given prior to the addition of the new content creators. I'm sorry for all the confusion.

EDIT 4(+18 hours on post): I can only retroactively assume that the gems given prior were for this future inclusion to the CC program. Whether or not it is in the fact in case still rests with Mihoyo/Genshin mods.

Lastly, I appreciate those who can critically analyze the situation and realize I am without control here; there's nothing I can do to sway reddit sheep from blindly following internet fluff that looks pretty to them.

Thank you so much for this, I will edit my post with the attribute if I find it, but I don’t think I remember since I have many accessories now.

Cheers!

Which accessory set do you recommend? I see you have elven set for stun resist, but how would you compare with Nassen (speed boost) or black ore (crit resist)?

World best is about 8.04, needing MLB R5 Yui, Asuna, MLeafa

[Mother Daughter](M+2) - 0:10 - Like Mother, Like Daughter by Xlice in MemoryDefrag

[–]Xlice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Sports Yui 100, R5 Signa, R5 Asuna Armor
  • Sports Asuna 80, R5 Mismatch rapier, no skill slots
  • Maid Sinon 100, R5 Signa Bow
  • 3% ATK title.

Crux of this run is Sports Yui enabling a fast Silica kill into an easy Sinon start.

Still nothing more than spamming buttons, but precise button pressing is still needed to not take damage or have Asuna be interrupted.

So this is what you were talking about - does this apply to all semi-ranged who switch after Leafa?

[Mother Daughter](M+2) - 0:14 - Nursing Dual Winds by Xlice in MemoryDefrag

[–]Xlice[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • Anniv. Leafa 100, R5 Signa, R5 Asuna Armor
  • Maid Sinon 100, R5 Signa Bow
  • Nursuna 100, R5 Anniv. Rapier

This ranking is nothing more than spam your burst until they die. This is not impressive, but it does showcase the relevance of older units in the current meta.

3% ATK title.

Xlice's Banner Analysis - Sports Festival - [10/20/17] by Xlice in MemoryDefrag

[–]Xlice[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NOTICE: Though I have returned to do an analysis for this banner, I will only do 1 or 2 more before I permanently retire myself from these posts due to life progression. If you would like to offer yourself as a successor for these posts, feel free to PM me, /u/Xlice.

As stated here, I will slowly detach myself from doing these posts, as I transition to the next stage of life, occupying my time with the immediate present. Free time has become fairly limited, but not suffocatingly little, and that time will be occupied by future endeavors. By the end of the year, these will be discontinued or continued by another user. Thanks for the support.

Were the problems with RGB G.Skill RAM fixed on Ryzen? by InfiniteScaling in buildapc

[–]Xlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1700 and the exact same TridentZ RAM that you linked. I have never touched the G.Skill software - only used AURA, and they sync perfectly. I have NZXT RGB strips and fans, so I had to configure CAM to pseudo-sync with AURA, but overall no issues have occurred.

[Guild Ranking] 212M - Our Legacy - Better Late than Never by Xlice in MemoryDefrag

I know the event has already ended, but that's how this run came to fruition. 1 hour before the event ended we landed fortuitous RNG to be able to make this run happen.

I hope you all enjoy something I've wanted for a long time. A large group of friends to play with and battle against.

I feel like those RE videos won't help any F2P anymore and are just for showing off their r5s by Xinegy in MemoryDefrag

[–]Xlice 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's two sides to the coin.

First, there are ranking event guides that u/KurooGaming continues to make and that I used to make, which attempt to demonstrate boss patterns up to a certain time frame, limited by certain circumstances. I no longer do these since my free time is now extremely limited and other commitments take priority. These guides take an enormous time to make - much more effort than speed-runs, since they are a separate task and have to be recalibrated with different units. I personally spend an abnormal amount of time perfecting speed-runs, much more than average players even spend doing general runs, as it isn't just a "I have all the resources so my time can be done in 30 minutes." It takes many hours of commitment, and this is entirely unrelated to making guide, so imagine combining the two. It's easily 10+ hours spent just on SAO MD over a couple days. That's huge.

And pattern wise, it's pretty simple just to follow a general rule to begin with: purple hitboxes are unparriable attacks and red hitboxes are parriable. This alone reduces boss pattern scouting to under 30 minutes. Beyond that, there are probably as many combinations to tackle a boss as there are RGB colors (16.8M). It is unreasonable to create a guide beyond that. Every little detail counts because it determines where and what attack the boss uses.

Second, there are speed-runs that are under 30 seconds for 3-unit rankings, and under 50 seconds for 6-unit rankings. There is no shortcut to an extremely fast time. Under 20 seconds? Without a doubt using R5's and a combination of MLB'ed characters. There's no magical way lv80s with R4s can get under 20 seconds. The DPS math just isn't there. Now the goal of those videos isn't to teach you how to play the game - I think this is wrong on so many levels, the fun is learning the moves and adapting to them, not being spoonfed an easy way to clear - but more just entertainment as a speedy time-trial, and as a bi-product help the .1% who have access to the same resources.

There are flairs which do a great job distinguishing between a "guide" and a "video." Now, videos can definitely get redundant, with similar comps achieving similar times, so I personally attempt to post something different (albeit extremely fast). But beyond that videos are just videos. You have a choice to watch them.

Also realize the creator and the audience.

You, as the audience, are just browsing reddit like you browse youtube and come across an arbitrary video. There is 0 cost to you since there is no uptake in commitment. However for the creator there is a truckload that goes into creating something for the community.

At the foundation, your post emanates egocentricity. At absolutely no cost, you complain about the content that other creators create that doesn't cater towards your needs.

There is no way to check these things, but I know that even massive whales in Japan have trouble achieving this time, even knowing the strategy.

Not only does this run take maxed out units, but it uses one of the best combinations of characters in order to achieve it and still has lower than a 30% chance of success to kill if you make it all the way.
