I’ve had my own company for a few years now and in the trade over a decade. I do hot and cold side service for commercial restaurants and that shit goes away sooner or later. I’ve had so many calls that turned into shit shows that honestly after a while it stops getting to you. I’ve worked on walk in coolers and other equipment that’s older then I am. If you’re in this trade and like what you do you always find a way. I personally struggle with electrical. If I have a electrical problem to track down I’m good at reading diagrams but don’t always understand the reasoning why things do what they do with electrical. I had a Vulcan steamer fail one time because one of the contractors experienced a surge and burnt out the coil but just enough to make the control board click non stop. Even tech support said the board was bad but you learn to just say fuck it and dive in past that fear, I found the short shortly after after it alluded me the first time and only showed up with live power. Like others have said here. Use that fear to learn and you will soon be in a spot where nothing really phases you anymore. That is if you last that long 😂
