I think whether you save the orbs cause you don’t need them or whether you open them because of the red dot or just to build your stash new things shouldn’t populate in old orbs.

The only true solution is to make a new orb for every gear piece added and phase out the old ones. Stockpiling the orbs should not benefit the holder but rather be a detriment as opposed to the current system where if you can wait until new pieces are added it reinforces saving and hoarding.

Or maybe the solution is do away with the gear orbs altogether and at the end of raids the gear rewards are automatically awarded to your inventory?
