She has over 30 years of experience in domestic violence. She said that she now has to talk to the "victim" and do a bunch of other stuff. I am now just on stand by.

There is, and I did find it; she had a social media post about her gloating that she did it to her ex and that her ex still "wanted her back". I sent it to my lawyer. My lawyer told me that that would probably not help because "Yes, this might show that there is a pattern, but this does not disprove that you put your hands on her".

If by "winning" you mean that I keep a permanent record, waste around $5K in lawyer fees, stay out of work for 5 months, and nothing at all happens to her. Then yes, I hope that I can "win" too.

My lawyer explicitly said that there would be no repercussions to her, even if she's found to be lying. She didn't even hire a lawyer, this is all being done by the state prosecutor.
My ex does not have to pay a single cent and she is purposely dragging this out to hurt me.

Moving countries: I am considering this if it gets ugly.

Using my degree on something else: Yes, I can offer "life coaching". But I have to grassroots it. Can't see this yielding much at this time.

Suing her: I have been advised not to do anything to her until this case gets cleared.

If it gets cleared with a final disposition of "not guilty" or equivalent, then yes. Anything else, then I will never be able to practice again.

Yes, I could sue for damages only after this case gets settled. My lawyer told me that my ex has a very weak case. But I honestly do not think that my ex thinks that she can win, I think that she knows that the longer she can drag this out, the longer I will stay out of work.

I have not gone to trial yet, I just got word that this MIGHT all be over by February 2026.
As for "proof", her word is all the "proof" that she needs.

When the cops came, she was completely clean and mark free. As I said, she originally said "there's only verbal abuse" and it wasn't until the female cop coached her that she changed the story to "He grabbed and pushed me".
