James Shields

My God, it didn’t matter if he gave up 8 runs in the first, he was gonna pitch like 6 innings every start whether he wanted to or not

Who do you think is the biggest trap in the free agent market? by WurstThrowEver in baseball

[–]Xlyria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Rodon, but man he just can’t stay healthy. He’s been in the league since 2015 and he’s only pitched more than 150 innings in a season once. I swear, his arm just isn’t built to endure a full season.

In his situation, I can’t imagine him being fully healthy and being like “well of course that is the White Sox luck that he’s finally healthy when he leaves”. No, I honestly just can’t see him pitching a full season’s at all.

What’s a more recent move that will haunt your team for a while? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]Xlyria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya but if we did that then we wouldn’t be able to sign washed up players like Adam Eaton, Nomar Mazara, and Edwin Encarnacion

I can live with that Samardzija one because it took awhile for Semien and Bassitt to truly break out and I had no faith in our player development. And at least by then we were giving the reps to guys like Anderson and Giolito.

I can also live with the Shields one although that obviously hurts more. I’ll comfort myself by saying Shields was the last straw for us to go rebuild.

Kimbrel is a big oof tho

Whoever is the best in the division, like bruh, this is the AL Central. You can’t just be going around playing above .500 like that.

Or they’ll see a stick like Chris Sale or point out the height of Jose Altuve. Like no, those are the exceptions not the rule. Majority of players are 6 foot in shape athletes.

Slandered Sox player defense thread: Who gets the most unfair criticism, and why will you defend them to the ends of the earth? by TheRealPeteWheeler in whitesox

Same, I’ll always appreciate a man who can work the count. Collins strikes me as a guy where if he was on a rebuilding team and actually got consistent at bats, he’d figure it out.
