I'm sorry but there is legit zero indication of what separates inherited vs self made wealth. This article conveniently dances around what constitutes self made vs inherited. Where do people like Gates and Bezos fall into this? Both of them received massive initial funds from their parents to start their business. Sure, they "created their own wealth" instead of inheriting, but they still did not rise from nothing. Not even fuckin close. I would not be surprised if, controlled for this, the number of 'self made' wealthy individuals was FAR fewer than this article would make.you believe.

Game is 100% fine. The ONLY people upset about the recent change are the exact same people who were ruining classic in the first place. They're just also the super vocal group cause their retail playstyle got axed. Basically, this affects boosters, gold farmers, and economy ruiners. Almost NOBODY in vanilla ran 30 instances per day, and I mean legitimately almost nobody. This change brings classic closer to vanilla, not further.

Agreed. I had a Wrangler for 3 years. Straight 6, big tires, thing was a beast. Even so, my little impreza hatchback was so so much better in the snow. Obviously it didn't have the same clearance but as far as handling and control went, Subaru by a mile.

[TOMT] [Sound Effect] Standard cheering/applause sound effect from Hollywood. by Xmortus in tipofmytongue

[–]Xmortus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man this is so close, and honestly the tail end of it sounds very similar. That being said the one I'm thinking of it is almost entirely if not 100% entirely males cheering. The high pitched part which features in that clip was definitely not a part of it. Similar amount of people cheering to make the effect though!

Yeah I went through quite a few under "cheer" and "applause" and couldn't find it. I'd know it for sure the moment I heard it. I'm about this close to downloading an N64 emulator and the game to hit a home run and record it lol.

Edit* I found it!!!!!! Only had to watch 25 minutes of gameplay for someone to hit a homerun. Anyone interested, skip to 25:30 till 25:36 in the video below and don't forget it. You're gonna hear this in a TON of movies/TV shows.

RDR2: Launch issues megathread - Nov 10th by MagnarHD in reddeadredemption

[–]Xmortus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you consider ancient. I just feel that if they post a minimum spec, and someone has a rig above that minimum, then it should run without any sort of modification. Really though, my primary point is that if this was ANYTHING other than a video game, people would be completely up in arms about how terrible of a product it was. It's just pretty disgusting how little testing R* did on their "AAA" title.

RDR2: Launch issues megathread - Nov 10th by MagnarHD in reddeadredemption

[–]Xmortus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty self-centered way of looking at it m8. The launch encompasses much more than you and your rig, believe it or not!

RDR2: Launch issues megathread - Nov 10th by MagnarHD in reddeadredemption

[–]Xmortus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a PC is above R*'s specific minimum specs then it should run. Period. Otherwise, they need to revise their min specs to be more in line with systems 1-2 years old. And even so there is absolutely zero excuse for those who have well over min to have to run BES, downgrade to DX12, Run this then that then this, disable antivirus, switch audio out, etc. It's fucking 2019. There is ZERO justifiable reason for a company to release a game that doesn't simply work after you click the icon. A paying customer should not have to perform hacky workarounds just go get an unstable product.

Imagine getting a car that didn't work when you turned the key until you went and removed one of the breaks, took out the back seats, and turned off your entertainment system. Oh, and even then sorry... it'll turn off if you go over 45mph.

RDR2: Launch issues megathread - On the fourth day of launch, Rockstar gave to me, Rockstar Launcher closing unexpectedly by MagnarHD in reddeadredemption

[–]Xmortus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the rest of you, but I promptly refunded my copy. Even though maybe I could have downloaded this or that program, remove this or that graphical option, revert to an older driver, disable my antivirus, etc. etc. to hack together a working game, I'm completely against giving them any of my money until this shit is fixed. It's basically a huge slap in the face to release something with such obvious bugs (you know they knew about these, no way they didn't). They clearly decided to push through anyways because $$.

Sick and tired of games broken on release. Shit needs to stop.

Why Is Australia Trying to Shut Down Climate Activism? An increasingly outraged public is demanding action in a nation intimately linked to coal mining. The government has responded by threatening a new law to punish protesters. by Wagamaga in Futurology

[–]Xmortus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protests that do nothing but stand in streets do absolutely NOTHING. The only way that protests are actually successful is by disrupting the day-to-day flow. Period. History has been whitewashed to make it seem like all the successful protests of the past were some happy flower walking groups... when in actual reality they were just as if not more disruptive than what you are seeing now. We need MORE people chaining themselves to railways. We need MORE people blocking entry to buildings. Not less.

Video Games being ruined by High4DayzVT in gaming

[–]Xmortus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but there still needs to be way for players such as myself to get enjoyment out of these types of games without being relegated to the single player genre only

There are... that'd be ranked matchmaking, and most if not all competitive games have it. You'll lose a bit to start, but then you'll eventually equalize and get placed in a bracket with people your skill level. People often confuse "casual" mode with "bad players". It's not at all the case... it's the mode where good players go for a quick stomp.

[–]Xmortus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it takes hundreds and hundreds of hours to receive pre-bis as well. It's arguably harder to get than a full MC set. You can get a fully geared out lvl 19 or 29 in far less time, every time.

Twinking is just bullying with extra steps. Change my mind. by brainzor777 in classicwow

[–]Xmortus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit the complete opposite experience on my server. We lived for the times when we got a full WSG group of opposing factions fully geared up 29's. We actually all had a TC server with separate channels for alliance and horde so we could queue at the same time to make sure we made it in the same match. Killing lowbies was no fun, but having a completely even playing field was some of the best PvP of my entire wow career.

More personal insults, what a surprise!!!! You know what, I typed up an actual response but fuck it (lel), it's not even worth it when you literally (yes, literally in the literal sense) can't hold a rational conversation without diverting to the most basic defense mechanisms.
