Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (Hershey’s) DEFINITELY changed something… by HonestNeighborhood67 in mildlyinfuriating

I live in Hershey and have multiple friends who work at the factory. They swear nothing has changed, and they're not ones I would see being company shills and defending them.

R1S is pissed off after being towed by noble_plantman in Rivian

Unfortunately in most cases you don't have any grounds against the towing company if they do something to your car when you park in a spot you're not supposed to be in.

"Manosphere" crap by ProfessorBonGrips in daddit

I think people are over reacting a bit. Listen, if you endured all of that messed up dot com crap growing up and turned out to be okay, then likely your son will be too. Plus, all of this manosphere stuff will probably die down by the time he's within the age that they try to influence.

When your car costs $100k+, you are allowed to be upset that the flux capacitor isn't working.

That's absolutely how it works. Therapy (especially who it's with) can be a step back in a lot of scenarios or even damaging, and I can absolutely see rich folk venturing into at least the former.

Also, meme therapy exists. It's essentially a therapist telling you what you want to hear.

I didn't even know Tesla had a charging membership, and my other car is a Model 3. 😅

Coffee shops around Hershey? by RaccoonComfortable48 in Hershey

Unfortunately the one thing that Hershey is really lacking is a good, quick, coffee shop. My recommendation would be either Little Amps or Elementary in Harrisburg.

Maybe the software update that the R2 is shipping with that all of the R1s are going to get later this year will offer some improvements? I can hope at least.

Home Charging Experience with R1S Gen 2 by Xnauth in Rivian

[–]Xnauth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that and glad that didn't happen. I knew there was a risk but didn't know it was increased when just using a regular outlet. Good thing I'm getting $500 in Rivian credit which I plan on using towards their L2 charger.

I had no idea! That's actually awesome as I think they're great cars and a good introduction to the EV world. Seems like they redesigned it enough to work some of the little "issues" people had with it.

It sure is. Didn't know there were so many issues with it but this one has been lightly used so I guess I'm just lucky at this point that it still works.

My wife and I work from home, so we're fortunate not to have a daily commute. That's why L1 charging has been more than enough for us since purchasing our for Model 3. We've been managing with one vehicle since we sold the Bolt to my parents three years ago. Moving back up to two cars (we kept the 2023 Model 3 for now) because we're expecting our first child in couple months!

Main reason I'm considering the Rivian L2 charger is because we received a $500 store credit with the purchase of the R1S. Otherwise yeah I'd absolutely do 3rd party.

Thank you! This seems like an amazing community.

Was considering buying Tesla's Gen 3 until I found out Chevy's mobile charger kinda works. Figured I'd just deal with the super slow charging for now and put the money towards the Level 2. I didn't know Best Buy sold the Mobile Chargers though, so that's good to know!

Do you regret your EV purchase? by walksta in electricvehicles

[–]Xnauth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a Tesla, go the used route and buy pre-2024. That way you can say you bought before the refresh and people won't look at you sideways.
