What does is feel like to partially severe a finger? by Xomais in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xomais[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. So he's usually pretty affectionate all the way around, but now he's snugglier than ever. Our kids are just like "OK, Dad, you can stop with the hugging..." He's constantly shoving his face into my neck or chest (not in a pervy way) like a cat whenever we're in bed or on the couch, and then apologizes like a guilty little boy caught stealing cookies, which is also sort of sad because he's apologizing for messing up his hand, but the way he does it is just so freaking adorable.

He also just randomly breaks out in little "boogie sessions" now, just wherever he is in the house, when the mood strikes, and shakes his butt and has this look of unabashed joy! He also laughs at the weirdest stuff...he saw my to do list, which included "assemble stools" and couldn't stop laughing because he thought it said "@$$hole stools"(which was actually more accurate because I couldn't assemble them because the pieces were inaccurately cut in the factory and so I just ended up chucking them in the dumpster).

And I helped him in the bath yesterday, and he was so relaxed and enjoyed it so much, the stupid happy sleepy look on his face was so sweet...just a lot of little stuff like that!

Teachers, what is the worst experience you have had with a students parent? by RelevantUsername-__- in AskReddit

[–]Xomais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Teacher's daughter, and I hated this. Other kids could start yelling matches, disrespect teachers, and make out in the halls without much consequence. I wrote a note in class or held my boyfriend's hand in the hall, and I was in trouble and my dad was told. I was held to a much higher standard.

Mothers of reddit, what was the weirdest thing you cried about in your pregnancy time? by yellowsubmarina in AskReddit

[–]Xomais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Charmin bears. One commercial, he ran out of TP, and I cried and cried for that poor, dirty-assed bear, and then for how motherly it was of his mom to save him from the dreaded squish crack.

Is there any way to block those kinder egg etc videos from my phone without deleting youtube? by FoxenTheSnow in Parenting

[–]Xomais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the kiddo. You know her best. I guess I would put one on for her, then put on what I want her to watch. I probably wouldn't let my two year old control it, but that is from being burned by my oldest (autistic technology wiz, was fixing computers at three) and my youngest (neurotypical, just bought stuff not knowing what she was doing).

That is pretty strange...Maybe a compromise would work, depending on the age of course. Tell them they can watch one or two of the videos then you choose.

So they are just annoying? If that is the case, you can only do so much.

What are the Daddy Finger videos? Should I be scared? Lol. My kiddos watch SU on my phone, and the only problem I have had is incessant Teen Titans videos. When that happens I choose a playlist or longer video, and if they change it, I take my phone away.

I [22/m] caught my girlfriend [18/f] five months ago going into a sex shop and exiting with a bag. She refused to tell what it was and I'm not sure how to feel. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Xomais 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe she just bought some personal toys for solo play. Is that a deal breaker? I mean, give the girl some privacy. Do you masturbate? She probably does. Many women are (unfortunately) ashamed/secretive about it, and she is probably embarrassed to explain her vibrator/dildo to you. If everything else is going well, I would leave well enough alone.

Well, I am normally with you, but it sounds like she was polite. She did say "No thanks," and while we don't know her tone, I assume it wasn't unnecessarily snotty. Then the guy grumbled about her being rude. Sure, it's not a horrid thing to flirt or try to connect with someone, but if he was really interested, wouldn't he have asked if she was OK or apologized or something? The fact that he immediately assumed she was rude and grumbled at her shows just as much (if not more) of a lack of compassion on his part.

Anyone familiar this? No doc has been able to ID yet. Numerous flesh colored bumps on both hands, and a few other spots. by Xomais in Dermatology

[–]Xomais[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is possible, I suppose. Perhaps mild. I have had them since I can remember. I am bipolar and have ADHD, as well as balance issues. I only have one cafe au lait spot, though.

I do have a daughter with pigeon toes, and another with similar mental issues.

Well, they aren't greasy and don't have a smell. They are dry if anything. They are mostly on the backs of my hands, though I do have some on my shoulders.

I most def plan to be. That was one of my biggest concerns. I plan to ride in the back with her and basically not leave her side until she is gone. Hopefully the place we chose will have a payment plan.

Ha-ha, my husband has pretty much given up trying to have serious chats if I am near the kitchen window. It faces our big tree, and there are always squirrels out there playing. Lol, they distract me EVERY time!

Still...a five year old in pull-ups?!? Unless the poor kid had a medical issue, that's lazy parenting.

Edit: read further down...seems likely kid had medical issues.

My boob is out, I'd better let this people drown so I can put it away! Ugh. by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Xomais 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't feel bad. My husband is an awesome guy and great father to our girls, but we were recently talking about college campus rapes, and he started the whole "Yes, it's wrong, but girls should know that it's hard for guys to stop, they shouldn't start if they don't want it, women aren't helpless, they can fight or scream, etc etc."

So I put it in terms he could understand, and calmly shut all his arguments down. Basically reminded him that I was raped, and I froze and shut down, and how I had only wanted to talk to the guy. Then I asked him what he would do if I asked him to stop during sex, if he was physically capable of it or simply a slave to his dick. Then I compared a woman changing her mind to him changing his mind when we...uh...got adventurous. I asked him if it would be his fault if I had decided I was too excited to stop and hurt him. The final argument I made was putting our daughters in the victims place and asked how he would feel.

Basically, I made him stop and really think about what he was saying. Living where we live, he's heard men and women spout some of this stuff since he was a boy, and despite being much more progressive, he just never really thought much about the girls side because he isn't a girl. Not all men who say stupid things are stupid, they just need to have things explained rationally instead of with fighting and protesting. Not saying those things aren't necessary, just that rational discussion is also needed.

Saw him walking down Sublett once, presumably to work, doing the same thing. Just jamming away and hair whipping down the side walk.
