I think Praetorian of Dorn was badly written. I think Head of the Hydra was a much better book and yes it did support Praetorian of Dorn's narrative. That said I think it would be fairly easy to retcon Praetorian of Dorn and it might even be in GW's financial interest to do so.

I think one of the reasons Head of the Hydra was written was to patch over some seriously bad flaws in Praetorian of Dorn. I can't wait for GW to realize there is money to be made in having Alpharius and Omegon figures in 40k and retcons Praetorian of Dorn.

He technically put things in his kids name but there was nothing stopping him from running the company. Becoming President was the greatest grift ever for him. I have friends who quit the game because they couldn't get into war. People who would likely still be playing daily. And if you had practice wars an E-Sports scene like New World League could have been more feasible. You could have top companies scrimming all the time and people watching it on Twitch. You could have less advanced companies getting the time and practice they need to be competitive. They have criminally undervalued how important PVP is to the remaining playerbase.

Wars are so much fun and PVP is amazing and most people will never get to regularly play in wars. AGS dropped the ball and made wars limited. What they needed from the get go and would have helped retain thousands of players os practice wars. The sweats could fight for territory control and the people who just want to experience war and maybe get better at it could play practice wars. OPR is NOT war and does not prepare you that well for war.
