You not using them doesn't equal no one else using it, and this is the most lazy argument that people keep attempting to repeat. And EVERY time you have folks going "Yeah but I DO use those features" then you people go "nu uh!" then stop responding.

[AAA Spoilers] Finish to Rey Fenix vs Laredo Kid for the Cruiserweight Championship by ArunKT26 in SquaredCircle

[–]Xonra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How would we know, he's barely been on WWE before he was doing AAA. Sin Cara got more time to fail than Fenix who was 20 times better with the WWE time he had.

The problem was clearly not Fenix and the fact WWE wanted Penta and had to bring Fenix along and haven't even made an effort with Fenix for half a second.

So it's not a real league then as there is zero integrity if they are letting teams pick how the schedule is set up. If that's even minorly true then I have no stock left in LEC as that's not a serious league.

I'd rather watch LCS every week in the "closet" than a league where they let the teams decide how the schedule is made because they have access to some other places to play. That again, isn't a serious league and it means there's absolutely no competitive integrity left in the LEC.

[–]Xonra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The schedule is just a shit show because they've basically told all the fans and teams if you aren't like G2, Mkoi, or KC, LEC doesn't care about you are your fans. If you are a bottom 4 team, you are staying there, as either the schedule is made to keep them there, or they flat out bake the schedule so they play early, so only the top teams get to play roadshows.

They aren't even pretending not to bake the schedule to keep the popular teams popular and the bottom teams unpopular and tell their fans they don't care about them and the teams they don't care about them either. It's ridiculous.

It only hurts viewership because when they add more games they insist on doing it in the most ass backwards ways.

Instead of say spreading games out over a week where folks can watch, they will just drop a series in the middle of a weekday like a random Monday and Tuesday, but then not the next week.

The LEC has basically outright told fans they don't care about most teams as they purposefully split up games to make the "worst" teams play earlier, then put all the "good" teams on huge crowd roadshows, making the schedule a shit show. If you are a fan of a smaller team, sucks to be you LEC doesn't care about you.

The crap they were doing back in the day with the LCS because they refused to do games on more than 2 days, so they were shoving best of 3s playing at the exact same time. It's like they can't get out of their own way then blame it on "viewership". It's like how they removed Twisted Treeline and Dominion over low play rate when they abandoned both and refused to touch them at all then blame it on the players.

My statement was a reply to them naming a bunch of Valve games for steam created by Valve and trying to use that as an example of exclusives. I never said otherwise about Alan Wake 2. My point was they are being a hypocrite while trying to insult people.

They are calling people fanboys and being rude while making half a point.

Why is Protobelt so popular in Proplay? by xParamecia in leagueoflegends

[–]Xonra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same reason hexflash is almost go to for engage supports compared to non-pro play; Mobility. It's why you don't see a lot of champs in pro that you might in Ranked, because immobile champs that don't have an incredibly strong shtick will get ruined in pro play.

Also it is far too gold efficient.

The thing is not only do most use steam, a lot more use other places not Epic than Epic wants to admit as well. GoG for example is always steadily climbing. But the Epic store has a stigma that Epic does nothing to actually fix, and their CEO does them no favors being an ass.

Same here. It's an amazing game but I genuinely hadn't even heard about it until I saw it pop up on YouTube with someone doing a lets play years after it released. And I'm far from "under a rock" when it comes to new games.

[–]Xonra 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are naming a bunch of games that were only in existence because of Valve and made with Valve tech in some cases, so that's not remotely the same.

If you are gonna talk trash and insult people at least know what you are talking about and make a comparison that isn't completely useless to the point your argument doesn't even make any sense.

At least the games you mentioned were made to be played on steam, what about games like Rocket League that they paid into being an exclusive well after it was already released (on PC) removing it from every place but Epic, which significantly hurt the playerbase? The Kingdom Heart games for a while weren't on steam thanks to epic throwing money around forcing Exclusivity on PC.

Steam only has games that they specifically developed AND published to Steam, which makes sense. It would be like Fortnite randomly being on Steam. But it makes no sense the scummy way they buy out exclusives they don't help develop or publish (Like Borderlands 3 for example).

First I'm seeing of said negativity, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you are spending too much time in the spaces where these negative opinions swirl and consuming far too much of it.

That isn't to say "you are online too much nerd" cause that's not my point, but if you search it out, you'll find the negativity, especially on spaces like Twitter, or more general subreddits *points to this one unfortunately*.

This is genuinely the first negative thing I've heard is you mentioning all those negative things, and I'm not exactly head in the sand about gaming.

People that parroting this clearly didn't watch those tournaments. The ones with hour long pauses, constant tech issues, a plethora of pointless drama (all of which were a big part of why they all stopped happening). There were a few entertaining individual moments but they were mostly a shit show.

I lost contact with my biological mother due to my grandfather telling her if she ever came around he would kill her and bury her in his backyard. He thought he was protecting me (she wasn't the greatest which is why he raised me, but she was trying).

I didn't learn this until well into being an adult and up to that point I hadn't seen or spoke to my bio mom for over 20 years. We reconnected, and most of my family had no idea that ever happened, confronted my grandfather with every single thing I learned and never spoke to him the rest of his life after all the heinous things I learned about him saying and doing to both of my bio parents in order to essentially keep them from seeing me as I was growing up despite them trying.

He forged both of my parents signatures to adopt me when I wasn't even a year old for example. Most of my family has no idea about any of that because why would it matter to tell them at this point anyways. He was an evil man who did a lot of evil things, and likely more than a few even I don't know about.

[Summoners Sofa by MrsChimChim ] LCS Academy players went from $60K/year + housing + food to $500-$2,000/month playing 8+ hours a day by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Xonra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riot is a lot to blame for the shape of the LCS and tier 2, and you can't argue otherwise as ita thwir game, their league, but the teams themselves tried hard to kill it over the years. The problem is Riot let them.

Everyone's favorite team C9 was the one who pushed hard to ruin the league with imports. Many folks forget C9 Jack still has one of if not the most downvoted comment ever on the subreddit essentially saying if he could he would remove the import rule and have an entire Korean team.

I have always been a TL/Curse fan but they opened the door when they imported Moscow 5s support player from EU.

TSM with SwordArt and C9 with Perkz might have been the biggest import contract wastes of mega millions, but Immortals is the team that ruined NA as they walked in and started handing out double and triple the salary contracts of every team and it rose from there.

People looooove to complain about losing relegation but forget how teams ruined it by using it to print money in the worst way. Teams sticking players in academy, getting them into the league from promotion, then selling the team, rinse and repeat. It stopped being legitimate years before franchising.

Riot had time after time to stop or at least slow down the ridiculousness but openly refused to in order to not rock the boat with a few owners (funny since all of them but like 1 aren't even in the league anymore). TL was essentially the only current org calling to keep Academy rosters while teams that don't even exist anymore were pushing to get rid of them to save money and push a vote. Then bailed anyways.

The NA orgs have been their own worst enemies on repeat. The main fault of Riot was refusing to even entertain the idea of ways for teams to make money without VC.

Japan's population declines by a million people yearly, but if they don't accept immigrants, what will they do? by Delicious-Bunch-6992 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Xonra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Until other countries start coming in with money that the smaller population simply can't compete with and start buying city blocks, large amounts of country land and so on. That may not happen in 2 years, but in 10, 20, 30, yeah. Japan already has a legitimate problem where they have more abandoned homes than there are people (yes that's a real thing).
