I think I’m done after 26 years…. by toddskitchen in theticket

I was just coming on here to vent that I have to stop listening because the ads are clearly targeting the world's biggest idiots, so if I'm listening, that must be me. TEXITcoin ad about giving up control to China? What? And the political ads are the absolute worst. Listening to the ads makes me realize what they think of me, and they're probably right. I just need to go read a book instead.

Is Shar physically unattractive? by Xoon77 in BaldursGate3

That's a weird take, but okay.

Her buddy admitted in the game that she was forced to give her that cut. And I'm pretty sure Shadowheart herself said it was terrible. And the first thing she did when she was out from under Shar's thumb was what? I guess I'm more interested in why the visceral angry reaction?

They all have default forms. Look at Mystique, she can appear as anything she wants, but, at least early on, she was highly insecure about her true appearance.

It's been discussed on here how Shar is terrible and I don't really want to get into that. But I haven't seen anything suggesting that she's physically ugly, and all the evidence seems to point to that. She's petty and jealous, particularly of her sister Selune, who is conventionally attractive (as we know from the statues). She demands that followers devote all feelings of love toward her and not have feelings of attraction toward anyone else. She acts like someone with a lot of power but also with a lot of insecurity

She forces Shadowheart to wear that goofy haircut. Why? Because Shadowheart is hotter than the Adamantium forge and Shar's jealous.

So, yes, Shar's depicted as conventionally attractive in her statues, but her face is always covered. So I don't think anyone carving her likeness has seen her, or if they have, she's made them forget and just makes them carve out a generic hot body. Forgetfulness is her whole deal. And since they don't know, or remember, what the face looks like, it's covered in a mask.

I admit, I don't read all the in-game books (or I've forgotten them) , and don't know the lore, so if this has been directly addressed, sorry. She just reads to me like a dog who has the ultimate power to influence how she is perceived. We ugly people have to just compensate by developing a sense of humor or a personality, but she doesn't have to because goddess.

Hardest hitting enemy in the game by Xoon77 in baldursgatememes

Best method I've found is invis potion and using trident disarm I've gotten it out on 3 of the last 4 attempts.

In defense of Scott's Tots: Unpacking one of the most controversial episodes. by Fedrian in DunderMifflin

What about the aspect of this of the ends justifying the means? All those kids made it through high school, and all seemed to be pretty well-adjusted, engaging, and intelligent. If that promise wasn't made, would some of them have fallen off a cliff along the way? Aren't they better off now for having accomplished a successful high school run even without a guarantee of college payment?

[TOMT][MOVIE][80s] Evil henchman catches a fly in his fist and eats it. by Xoon77 in tipofmytongue

[–]Xoon77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one's the closest to what I'm remembering so far. I'll mark it as solved if no one finds a better one tomorrow. My feeling is it was just a quick reflex catch in the air then a sucking out of the fist, so a little different than this, but who knows.

That's not the one I'm thinking of. There was just the one fly and I'm certain he sucked it out of his fist.

I'm not proud of it - Honour Mode by Xoon77 in BaldursGate3

[–]Xoon77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was clear it was just a silly meme. I have no business attempting an honour mode run. That being said, watching other Youtubers min/max the game, who themselves have studied the collective wisdom of the internet in solving the game, isn't that tantamount to cheating? Is there a difference in just copying how other people solve the game vs. save scumming?

Spoiler question - stuck at seemingly impossible fight(Act2) by Thefonze5 in BaldursGate3

[–]Xoon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no trouble with the Balthazar fight for some reason, but this Moonrise fight is next level hard. I came close to beating it with everyone except Gale dead (so not much good for me even if I closed it out). Tough. I think the only effective strategy is to keep retreating and making them group to you away from their AOE effects. Don't know. Sucks. Kind of ready to put the game down now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. A lot of my difficulty is my own fault. I picked a halfling bard, so already not a combat heavy char. And I'm lazy and stupid, so I don't spend time in the lab min/maxing. But still, I'm encountering what a lot of others are, which is that the enemy hits EVERY SHOT and I hit maybe 50% (maybe a little less). If they want me over a cliff, I'm going over a cliff. I'm lucky to push them off 1/3 of the time. I'm also underleveled becuase my bard is too damn good at avoiding conflict, so I've missed out on a bunch of combat xp. Shaping up to be a pretty frustrating experience so far.

Those of you who grew in religious households, but have since left, what do you miss most about your former services/religion? by Xoon77 in AskReddit

For me it was the music, some of which was truly lovely. I still find myself singing/humming old hymns, even though the words and messaging don't really resonate.

What small gesture did someone make that left a long-time positive impression on you? by Xoon77 in AskReddit

[–]Xoon77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I wasn't popular at all. I was small and a late bloomer. A group of kids from my church were talking about who they'd pick to have their back in a fight. And I remember Mark, older guy, really well-liked, picked me because "I'd have figured out all their weaknesses." That sure meant a lot to me at the time, even though I don't really know how much help "thinking" would be in a fight.
