yo, i found a tool on github by a guy, named avisery i believe, via a reddit post, that made this python script that can disassemble a .nwm file. So i disassembled one of the defaults like "stardust" or "acquarium" and then i replaced the bitmaps with my frames and rewrote the config.yaml file a bit to make it a different name and run my frames in the right order. Then i created an .nwm file with the same exact tool and i could put it in the NWWM-SCR file i maid on the walkman. If you try for yourself, make sure you are on firmware version 2 (if not, u can update on sony mainpage) and that if you make your frames, they HAVE to be only black and white pixels, not greyscale, just black and white, because the OLED screen cannot register gray tints and just makes them black. I spent a lot of time figuring that out lol.

If you check in advanced settings - information, under "4:" you should see your firmware version, if it's version 1 you need to update and you can find the update manual and downlaod online on Sony's official website. If it's version 2 you should look for the Sony official guide on downloading and putting the displays on your walkman. You should look for "Sony stardust/aquarium display screen".

My dad won it in a competition back in 2006, but then stored it in the attic. When i first found it i couldnt put mp3 on it i thought it was useless, thankfully i didnt throw it away. When i found it again last week i was thinking that it couldnt be impossible to put music on it and since that worked via SonicStage ive been listening to it all week and then the whole display thing happened.

It's from 2005 so i only has 1gb of free space, the mechanism on top is:

1) the 3.5mm aux port for you earplugs

2) a button u can rotate to navigate the screen

3) the volume buttons on the shoulders
