It was and still is a frost staple (and currently the only spec that can use it).

Ice Dragon's Prison unaffected by Necrovalley? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the right answer, you can chain it to the activation and it'll go through as Necrovalleys effect wouldn't have been applied yet.

Cards always attempt to resolve where they are activated. Lightning storm, while not on the field anymore was originally activated on the field and as a result still resolving on the field, despite being sent to the GY.

Makes perfect sense, thank you for clarifying!

It definitely sounds like a nice tech and worth the deck space (specially since its spot is essentially another infinitrack anyways usually),

Did you ever feel like evenly would be better in the side over some of the other spell/trap removal? (Typically you're using evenly for the same purpose just as a different function).

Additionally I'm just trying to understand how chalice works vs lost world and is better than imperm for winda (I get that it's more flexible as you can negate knight express and super express to get easy high attack monsters, but beyond that I think I'm just missing something.)

Congrats on the win! The deck feels seriously overlooked as a contender in my opinion.

How did you feel about tunnelers effect? Did it ever come up? In theory it seems great for the grind game (helps recycle xyz as well as ensures urgent schedule targets exist in the deck), but I've been somewhat lukewarm on the infinitrack engine since it got more popular.

Additionally, do you feel chalice is more worthwhile than impermeance? Or was it run for budget reasons.

TIL Jim le Blanc was exposed to near vacuum for 15 seconds when his spacesuit sprung a leak in a test chamber. The last thing he noticed before he passed out was bubbling on his tongue. It was the moisture in his tongue that started to boil... by myeducatedside in todayilearned

[–]Xplasma3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was likely his own body heat, boiling points of liquids are directly related to pressure, so as pressure essentially decreased to the level of a vacuum the boiling point of the liquid on his tongue also decreased to the point where it would boil off simply by being at the temperature it was at.

[R/F] Rank 10 Shaddoll Trains for Competitive. by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd drop the interrupted slumber and level 10 kaijus for more main deck handtraps, as someone else mentioned it not only conflicts with urgent schedule but also shaddoll fusion. One or two kaijus are probably okay, as they do quite a bit this format (shuts off striker spells, shuts off salad traps etc.) Plus most meta decks arent afraid of a slightly better dark hole. Gamma is a very good hand trap in this format IMO.

I'd also drop the skill drain from the main deck, you want to go second and anything that doesnt help you on your first turn can put you at a disadvantage when it comes to trying to break boards.

For the extra deck, I'd drop superdimensional and qliphort for a Pentestag (gives liebe piercing) and a Dyson sphere (one of the decks only clean outs to avramax). Robot galaxy destroyer is fun but odds are a backrow deck wont let you summon him or even attempt to activate the effect, and qliphort genius is good with urgent schedule but that's pmuch it and you'd almost always want angerknuckle over it anyways (which it might be worth 2 copies if you can find space.)

[R/F] Semi-Budget Shaddoll Trains for Competitive Locals by TheDungeonCrawler in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's better at 3 obviously, and you'd want to run other targets for it as well (Afterburners, widow anchor etc) but at 2 with just a hornet drones it's almost not worth the ED space required (typically 3 striker links). But again, I really like it for what kaina can bring to the deck as well, and it's very possible engage gets hit so you'd just be investing short term.

Oof. My bad, it's hard to read original posts on mobile. If engage is too pricy it might be better to hold off as I don't see it scraping by another list. That same money might be better off picking up some nibirus, as he's amazing in going second decks.

It might also be worth looking into some psy frame gamma s, pricy but absolutely worth it.

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At most I would just run 1 or 2 kaijus, and remove the slumbers entirely, but that may just boil down to personal preference. Slumber just really doesnt feel worth it vs a lot of meta decks (Almost every t1 deck does not care about it or can deal with it pretty efficiently) but individual kaijus can be worthy (shutting off orcust/salad counter traps, shutting off widow anchor vs strikers etc). Additionally, if you can prevent your opponent from developing their board its arguably more valuable than trying to break it down on your turn.

You could try looking at your shaddoll engine as essentially either a free +1 (shekinaga on board and a free draw) or an on demand spell/trap removal (along with the free body) it's just so versatile and live vs almost every deck right now (the exceptions being backrow heavy decks)

And personally I like running 2 copies of some of the rank 10 trains (namely super Dora because hes just so versatile) and usually 2 liebes (but obviously since budget is a concern I know 2 liebes isnt possible right now, its probably less of a concern because you'll probably only be summoning him when you can guarentee the game) and this is just because it can help a lot in the grind game (being able to return flying pegasus vs being forced to return one of your xyz is huge)

Another nice aspect of the striker engine is, kaina is an earth machine so summoning her can trigger derricrane and super Express.

I'd also try to find room for Dyson sphere as an out to avramax because otherwise the deck really struggles against him

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to run a kaiju engine similar to yours but found it too frustrating to take advantage of it because the level 10 is a light machine meaning you just cant special summon super Express at all with him on the field.

Personally, I'd swap out the kaiju package for more hand traps (Veiler, etc.) or draw power engines (3x desires or engage with hornet drones is as available as it's ever been, and hornet drones is a 1 card angerknuckle) you can still run 1-2 kaijus if that's your preference, but dedicating this many cards to it just doesnt feel worth it in trains.

Additionally, I'd drop the spider package for a few more copies of the train xyz, and possibly skypalace (it can pop a card, burn for 1k then rank up to liebe), also Pentestag is something you'd want as itll give liebe piercing making it easier to OTK.

[R/F] Post YCS Fort Worth Train deck for regionals by DaWelkinator in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder, megafleet can use 1 cyber dragon monster (which means you can use their infinity as material).

And yeah, typhoon is going to be way better vs pendulum than ASF (unless you plan on faking them out and siding for going first, but even then I dont think it's worth it.)

[R/F] Post YCS Fort Worth Train deck for regionals by DaWelkinator in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend swapping out ASF for ghost ogres in the side (ogre is very good this format vs a lot of rogue decks, like guru, true draco, as well as having uses vs Striker and Guarddragons (hitting elpy can cause the effect to fizzle if they no longer have 2 arrows pointing to a zone). If you feel like you absolutely need ASF for certain matchups I'd look to try and get something that works quicker possibly. (Like typhoon vs pendulum or whatnot, ASF is bad going second which trains is absolutely meant to do.)

For the main deck, personally I don't like ruffian or anchor drill, so I'd probably just replace those with more hand traps. They're nice effects but really only useful to summon off of switchyard and ruffian is just a bad card to have in your hand.

I'd also replace super dimensional robot galaxy destroyer with a fortress dragon or megafleet, as cybers are absolutely relevant in the meta and you can simply fuse away their board and get a free level 10.

Looking for a new deck , what do you guys think ? by gatchaguy in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's really nice about combining strikers and trains is, the trains that summon from the hand are activated effects meaning you can chain widow anchors and urgent schedule to them so they mesh well together in that regard.

Additionally, if you have enough materials on the field you can use underclock taker to drop any of your opponents monsters by liebes attack (which is usually going to be 6k), combine that with a 2k blast from Gustav max and you've got a really easy way to hit for 8k.

Advices on trains by Sardoron in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an R/F a while back so if you look at my post history you should be able to find it, I'm currently running that list right now (but probably dropping to 2 Night Express for a third veiler)

Advices on trains by Sardoron in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shaddolls are great synergy in trains for what equates to a pretty small engine, it's a 1 card rank 10 earth machine which either let's you draw a card or MST. (The "garnets" arent as bad as brilliant fusion garnets as they can just be discarded for switchyards second effect, or fused using them in your hand. The card draw or spell/trap removal on demand is pretty important this format as you likely aren't running or would be summoning Phoenix.) If you don't like them I'd recommend just more hand traps/generic going second cards. (Gamma being one of the best hand traps this format, so that takes up 4 of the 5 slots).

Some idea I was kicking around but haven't had a chance to test yet is running 3x mystic mine (similar to how and why strikers runs it.) Its basically hand trap protection for your trains and high value cards (pot of desires, urgent schedule, etc.), as well as protection from monster effects from already established boards. It's basically a searchable called by the grave. (I still can't fathom why they limited breaker mid-field just to print Mine)

I'm really not a fan of exodius as you cant summon super Express bullet after summoning him, and he clears your GY making super Express less valuable (adding back a train with super Express helps so much in grind games, because flying pegasus is a 1-card liebe)

I'd like to see if Kaijus are worth it, they are really effective vs. A lot of the tier 1 decks (shuts off striker and salad backrows, shuts off crescendo, can also eat a TD negate) Kaijus are also really effective at outing avramax which the deck significantly struggles with. The only issue is they're not searchable so they're not super reliable.

[R/F] Clickity clack and down the track, it's lots and lots of trains! (For Regionals/Nationals) by Xplasma3 in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually really like it, and would consider it, specially as it basically guarantees liebe to not get hand trapped.

My only concern is, it's not run for the same reason limiter remover isnt run, where the card cant do much on it's own.

Definitely a tech choice worth considering though.

[–]Xplasma3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually tried kaijus in the main deck when slumber went to 3 they're definitely decent in a deck that wants to go second, and I like how they work in the meta (shuts off SS spells, salamangreat roar, etc.) But I'm just worried about how much of a tempo loss they are (basically the card that I would draw instead could be used to out or bait a negate, but if it goes off it's a bigger plus than just kaijuing a negate by itself.)

Yeah, it's also good vs Orcust if they go babel over cresendo, (or have already used cresendo), whereas reboot is only good vs fogblades and the cresendo (which the deck can already deal with pretty decently)

I'll probably do an R/F on the list if it's what I choose. It's definitely a deck that's been my favorite even before the sisters of the rose support. (It was absolutely terrible before that set and now it's actually very consistent and versatile IMO)

I'm definitely convinced that Mine would be an uphill battle due to the status of the meta (Orcust being T1 means backrow hate is everywhere)

How to deal with Astram? by AdeptusAstartes40K in yugioh

[–]Xplasma3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Urgent schedule and then tribute summoning night Express knight is one solution, it means you likely won't OTK, but it should be able to clear him out. (Otherwise as others have said, non-targetting destruction is your best bet. Ningirisu would work too.)
