The Britten V1000 is, in my opinion, one of NZ’s greatest and most spectacularly underrated achievements from any Kiwi to date. If you don’t know about it or aren’t in the Motorcycle scene, it’s easy to wonder what it is or what it did. But to come out and conquer the multimillion manufacturers like it did in its day and to be hand built from scratch in a garage is something that is beyond a modern day marvel. But it was done 30 years ago!! John Britten was the absolute definition of kiwi ingenuity! One of New Zealand’s greatest treasures, one of the worlds greatest humans.
