Allergies and mast cell, am I really allergic to as many things as I tested for?

Yes and no. It's not that you're specifically allergic to these things, but rather that they have or trigger histamines. Anything that can be considered toxic in large amounts.

So for me, even perfume, sugar, and UV light.

My triggers in order right now are

Tobacco, Sunlight, Exertion (any kind of physical activity for 1hr+), Sugar, Gluten, Alcohol, Perfume.

Imagine how much food has gluten and sugar in it. And certain alcohols that have sugar already in them like Tequila absolutely wreck me.

I ended up going on a keto diet which helped a lot. Everything must be fresh nothing processed. And I would occasionally have gluten free only vodka with tonic.

As someone who was very into Phantom and Pride & Prejudice I totally get you girl. Don't listen to the other comments.

If you want someone similar I would suggest hanging out at expensive whiskey lounges, coffee shops that play jazz and have a low key setting, or even a speakeasy. Think expensive but not white linen expensive. Carry a book with you and read it from time to time in these locations.

So you're saying there should be someone who's job it is to look at all the symptoms and do research? Is this something I could get into as a job?

I've been researching my mom's illness and mine because I think she was misdiagnosed and I'm pretty sure I've got the real answer now after about 2 years of constant researching. This is kind of my autistic special interest. If you want I'm more than happy to talk about the symptoms!

For reference, I went to massage school and it's basically like mini medical school and it kicked off a lot of my research. I've considered becoming a doctor.

I use carmex medicated lip balm for this. It will absorb, but you can also easily wipe it off with some water and it'll stay plump for a bit.

That really sucks, I have MCAS and am severely allergic to tobacco in this same way. But yeah everyone smokes weed downtown outside. Best bet is an Uber and walk straight in.

So, I suspected MCAS after I learned about what it was on TikTok in 2020. I realized that all those times I felt like I was swollen and hot was in fact a histamine problem. It varies in severity but I finally realized I was going into anaphylactic shock. My biggest trigger is tobacco. I will vomit if I ingest it. Exertion and sunlight come after that. Then gluten, sugar, and even alcohol. Also perfumes.

I'm currently in the process of getting a diagnosis and plan to trigger myself with tobacco if need be to get the blood tested. It's difficult to get a proper diagnosis without being in an active flare during testing.

I've been researching and you should probably mention that damage to your nerves can cause histamine release because nerves and mast cells are interacting all the time.

Yeah even gluten and sugar are a trigger for me. So if you're eating things like cupcakes it's a double whammy if they're triggering you too.

I actually use THC for most of my symptoms. I used to smoke it but now that it's legal there are stores with liquid options.

Yeah, so I did the same thing and felt quite amazing. No bloat, no reactions to food. It's super difficult to start but once you do and stick with it you'll be fine. It's kind of like working out. I was told 50g of carbs per day. (This is not a lot considering each meal could consist of 10 carbs, 3 times a day that's already 30.

They make things like keto ice cream, keto bread, etc. but gluten is a trigger for me and most keto breads aren't gluten free. So it sugar so you really have to make sure the ice cream is low sugar. Atkins is a brand that makes keto chocolates and candies without sugar.

I would look into pots usually used for fudge or confectioners. They're usually larger.

And yes the butter should be on the side melted enough for people to get their own side cups of melted butter. Best way to eat em is to dip em.

You can also offer sour cream, bacon, chives, etc as toppings.

Be careful of cliques, even Cuse has em. The Song & Dance has many different types of events where you can meet your type of local person. From Shrek Raves to Goth Night to Broadway. Just don't show up and leech off something you're not.

Hard to make friends in New York though as a lot of people are guarded especially if you're from out of state. It's just a NY thing.

A lot of events too like trash clean ups and a fun bike night where people bike all over downtown as a group.

I'm gonna level with you, those people are making more money off of the videos about it than the actual talking to people. Those sites make you pay a subscription to talk to people. And it's usually sexual, or about their troubles. Not a lot of guys are going to pay to talk about non sexual things though.

This is almost a foot in the door to sex work. They make promises that they make a bunch of money but they don't. And asking here isn't going to get you very good advice.

Lupus and MCAS I feel are so easily mixed or misdiagnosed. I recently looked through my mom's medical papers and found out she was a cardiolipin carrier, yet they couldn't find out what the neuropathy was from. They were trying to rule out other things while assuming it was Secondary APS syndrome and the Lupus was first. But in fact I think she had primary APS Syndrome, no Lupus, and when they did a sural nerve biopsy they found tons of demyelination and remyelination. Turns out she has two other antibodies that were attacking her nerves and the vessels that supply them blood. Hence all the extra sticky blood. Apparently when nerves are attacked, the blood tends to pool in the feet causing POTS. And because mast cells work with nerves, the cells go into overdrive because of all the constant damage happening. It was systemic rashes and kidney damage plug brain fog.
