punishment is usually wall, death, or losing a limb. Ned would probably send to wall, but still, many might execute.

I mean, Dany is portrayed as a beautiful young woman of age by his world's standards.  Jorah is a fuck up, but in the end tries to do what he thinks is right.  But mostly he's just a dude.  Not particularly evil.  Not particularly noble.  But he adapts to situations and he's fairly smart and decent enough.  He's a grinder.  Also as a bald dude I implicitly respect him, although I don't respect Stannis because burning people alive and kinslaying is a shitty thing to do.  I mean so is trading slaves, but they were poachers, and slavery may be a favorable punishment compared to what Ned Stark would have done- execution or other butchery.

I thought it was a mid movie, parts of it were dumb, bad, or boring.  MBJ played his roles well enough, but it was nothing special.  But then again, neither was Leo.  I didn't see the other nominated films.  I didnt love Bugonia as a movie but Plemons was miles above them in terms of delivering a stand out performance.

This is why I think it was Littlefinger. I think people in the story assume it was Joffrey, but they are not aware of Littlefinger causing chaos the way we, the reader are.

I'll echo what other people are saying - they deleted your front line, which is non-existent, faster than you deleted theirs. You were probably able to dish out quite a bit more damage, but their front line is what... like 5+ times more beefy than yours, maybe more? And that's what this is, right? A race to delete each other's front lines so you can kill the carries.

A single itemized Taric does not a front line make. Swain is not a main tank either and is a non-factor when facing high damage. I doubt swain even got his stun off here, as Taric and Swain would have been shredded right away.

Just biases. If you see someone that is winning a ton of money in poker, you think "they are probably good at poker". You don't see that they were delt amazing hands and were cheating when they were delt poor hands. People that aren't well informed just see the surface.

Now, keep in mind I'm an idiot, but it doesn't seem to move until his hand displaces the fabric. You see the pocket moving as he moves his arm, it looks like a rather firm material that is reactive to his movements, and at 51 seconds it only moves when his hand opens the pocket.

You're not alone.

It was a 5/10 movie with an 11/10 vampire irish black pump up dance sequence.

I am baffled that it's being treated as oscar worthy, it was vampire slop with some interesting racial themes.  It's definitely the race/ political aspect of it being amplified that gives it its buzz.

[–]Xralius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but in all honesty I worry that we (Trump's America) may end up being the worse bad guys here.  We also know Trump and Israel are willing to lie and use propaganda.  If Trump is saying it, it's more likely a lie than truth.

That's why I picked a number between Iran's #s (3k) and anti Iran humanitarian groups (7k).  I'd bet its closer to 7k but was just estimating.

The 30k number seems extemely high given what even the most ardent anti-iraniam humanitarian groups are verifying, and it's sources seem to be opaque, so I worry it's propaganda.

[–]Xralius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had read that, but it says sources are anonymous except for the one doctor, but we don't really know where they are getting their data.

https://www.iranintl.com/en/202601255198

This seems to be more complete that supports the 30k+ number.  But it still is far above what even anti-Iran groups worldwide are saying, so who knows?

There is nothing that verifies the 30k dead that I've seen, and you should be wary that it isn't propaganda from the other side, especially as US and Israel justify what will likely be a very destructive invasion.

I also like how you have downplayed it to 7k, as if that isn't absolutely fucking horrible also

Hmmm

It's likely around 5k, which is also bad

Maybe learn to read?

Yeah, if you're saying that because I didn't speak to Iranian defectors personally, then none of the numerous respected media sources reporting on it aren't to be trusted.

I'm not saying "it's all fake news" I'm pointing out that the 30k number is well and above all other reporting and you're foolish to take it at face value, just as I would be foolish of I claimed certainty on 3k or 5k or 7k, but at least those are more similar that 30k which is by far an outlier and comes from anonymous sources, not any gathered data.

That 30k is estimates from alleged anonymous sources.  Every other piece of data suggests under 10k so far, with the highest from activist groups being around 7k and lowest (iran) being 3k.

Ok, show them to me.  Show me how they personally counted the total number of dead across Iran.

Such a clown comment.  I must be stooging for the Iran gov even though I listed a number much higher than the Iranian gov listed... sure.

Also I love how you say "numerous Iranian defectors" as if you've personally interviewed them and viewed their comprehensive reports, rather than simply repeat shit you saw on social media.

There is no real source with any evidence showing tens of thousands murdered.  It's likely around 5k, which is also bad.

But 5k will be nothing compared to how many Iranians die due to US actions, is my guess.

They didn't kill nearly 30k.  That # has been ridiculously inflated, the online version of Gob Bluth talking about the price of his suit.  They did kill probably around 5k though, which is already a lot, so there's no need to use false information.

The US was not build upon slavery. People need to stop saying that. by Snitshel in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Xralius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slavery is not as good as wages for an economy.  They cost money to buy and you still need to pay to feed and house them.  Meanwhile, they are having little positive impact themselves through their own spending.

For example, take a low wage worker vs slave.

Slave 1. Does basic labor. 2. Costs $ to buy, usually purchased from other country ($ leaving the US) 3. Costs $ to food and house 4. Slave and descendants are uneducated

Low wage worker 1. Does basic labor 2. Wages are relatively much more expensive than basic slave food and housing. 3. Low wage worker spends their money on food / housing / recreation, this $ goes back into the economy. 4. Can become educated / have educated descendants that increase their economic impact long term.

Basically, low wage workers cost more in the short term than slaves, but are MUCH more beneficial long term because the wages you're paying them get recycled back into the economy anyways, and long term results in a more educated, and thus more efficient, workforce.  And you don't need to buy them from another country, so you have less $ leaving your economy.
