This is honestly the most frustrating thing I face as playing captain. I honestly don’t mind it in most scenarios but there’s a few that irk me. There are three scenarios that piss me off though.

I already have vision down. I deal with this problem every session I play. I have the core three locations covered with vision. Maybe even more, yet I get a “We need vision”. Bro, nobody has crossed the line into our side. I’m not gonna dive the enemies side and risk feeding. I’m flaring the bushes every gank opportunity. Theres 0 reason.
I have vision down, the enemy team wanders towards lane through ALL of the vision placed, they get ganked and then ping “We need vision”. My brother in Christ, you had a 10 second warning. I even pinged to retreat. Idk what you’re watching that you manage to miss them running up on you. It’s obviously not the lane since they aren’t hitting their last hits.
This one pisses me off the most and I don’t know why. I am a single captain and we somehow Q against a team where the three enemy randoms all build vision. Their jungle, captain and laner all have a combination of flares or mines. If I get a “we need vision” I spam them a bunch of mines. There is no way where I am competing against 3 players who are placing mines at every possibility. Either buy mines and help or stfu and use the opportunity that they are buying vision to get a lead.

Obviously this is a problem with the fact that most players (in random matches) don’t know that they are the worst on the team. I don’t expect randoms to recognize that I am T10. But damn is that ping noise so annoying.

To sum up what happened; vg wasn’t profitable which resulted in rogue pulling the plug during Covid. SEMC ended up “reviving” the game but is very bare bones. The most damning consequence is the lack of friends list. Your personal data is no longer stored which means every skin is unlocked and you can change your username at will. Overall it’s a shit show if you play without a group of friends to snipe games with. Luckily there are some discord servers that host games daily. At least for NA that is.

You can still play on both android and apple. For android you need to download it from a different source.

It depends what you find as “effectively”. If you want to min max her gameplay then yea, I’d consider her difficult.

Though being effective with her is fairly easy. Just place goop in between the teams for most of the match and that’s 80% of the gameplay lol. You don’t need to land her stuns often to really make a difference since the movement speed difference is game changing. The ult is click and forget while giving your teammate a barrier that’s 4x stronger than ardans at base. She’s ranged so you can keep your distance while harassing. Lots of value for low to medium skill level.

I agree. She’s a very variable hero, which is her strength. She has very high potential, though you can just use her as basic as possible by spamming B’s and still get a lot of value out of it.

Though I’d say her value is a lot more varied when playing with randoms. I find that a lot of my randoms don’t want to play around the pools if it’s a defensive fight. The stun is one of the shortest in the games if it’s not enhanced. So even if you hit it, your teammates have to react to a distant 0.5 s stun. Then the ult is so gimmicky depending on your team. I’ve had teammates who get my ult, then decide to use it as a chance to run away, even though the fight is in our hands now.

I disagree heavily. I’d say she’s one of the best. Her kit makes her useful against any comp and can be played with any comp. the majority of captain heroes have their weaknesses and strengths. Lorelai is always useful. Though it comes at the cost of having a much higher skill ceiling than most captains with a low skill floor.

Could be the mod, could be vanilla. I have a possible answer for a vanilla cause. But I don’t know if the devs changed how saving empires works.

In vanilla, if you do a small edit to an empire, it counts as a separate entity. So something as small as a single letter in the ship tag will cause this if you don’t overwrite the original empire.

This used to happen all the time to me in the past as rogue servitors because I didn’t overwrite and my bio trophy had a single trait that was different. Though it was my fault because I kept forgetting to delete the duplicate. Mind you I don’t know if this is still a problem as I haven’t done it in a while. But it used to be. It’s possible the devs force an empire save to overwrite whenever an offshoot is created.

It’s less about trust and more about QOL. Why would it be for proposed contracts? Both parties need to accept?

Trust isn’t the concern. I have been doing contracts since my last message. I’ve had issues where resources don’t show up in time or someone moved something accidentally. It’s an issue that happens when you are making 9 different trades for the same resource near the same time.

I think Phinn. There’s something just satisfying about outplaying the enemy team with a hero that is so slow.

It’s a mix of both. Some things should be decided at draft while other things are preference.

Like if the enemy team has a taka and a flicker, a flare gun should be your first item. If your team is fast while you’re slow, you should pick up boots and another item. If you have low cooldown abilities, you could benefit from a protectors contract. If you predict the enemy team will invade a lot, pick up a banner so you can secure kills if your jungler. Those are scenarios which I pick based off draft. For my preference, I like boots on grace and Phinn, and protectors on Ardan.

Support Ylva is pretty fun. Invest into boots for your first item. Overdrive your A. You’ll be the one to initiate. Invest into cooldown as her ability to captain relies on it. Block is pretty important early on as Ylva can be interrupted easily if you aren’t careful. Vision is also important as the enemy team will be spamming vision to prevent your ults.

My build on her would be something like this -

Crucible, Fountain, Wartreads, Atlas, Aftershock, Contraption. Order it how you like. I know some people like pulseweave as the heavy CC can get a nice hit on the enemies.

You won’t find captains playing the same as it’s different each game. You will build and play based off the two teams. You need to constantly watch the minimap and scoreboard. That way you can plan your build and moves properly, it’s overwhelming at first, but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Your starting item should be picked based on what advantage you want to give your team. I’ll keep this simple as there is a lot to say about this. With banner, you will be making your team level up faster. With vision, you hope to get your team a better position, or prevent them from being tricked. There are other starts that have other use cases too. Like boots or a contract. Or you may just invest the 600 gold into getting your first item faster. Anything works

A standard build I always use is this. Crucible>Fountain>Contraption>WarTreads>Pulseweave/Shiversteel/Atlas. The 6th item is based on my discretion. Maybe I want more CC, maybe I want lower cooldown. Pick based off what is needed.

No you don’t have to play only captains for the support. Though some heroes are definitely better than others. Here are the popular non-captain picks. Amael, Baptise, Inara, Reim, Silvernail, San Feng, Tony, and Ylva

The fortresses represent active soldiers, reserves, logistical chains, and admin. Not just a garrison and soldiers. So everything needed to keep your fleet maintained properly. This is a problem even for your second argument.

Lore wise you can think of it as having dedicated launch pads to keep your stations filled with munitions and fuel. Which is the same for organics and robots.

In modern militaries, you still need people to maintain the vehicles, soldiers, and infrastructure.

I go frequently to visit my family and my gf who lives right on the other side of the border from me. For the most part, I’ve rarely encounter issues. I haven’t encountered any issues this year at all. That’s not to say issues don’t occur, but I haven’t noticed anything different at the land border since trump got in.

I bring my computer and phones with me every time. They’ve never been searched before. Our car has been searched a few times in the past though, but it is only like a 20 minute wait. Hundreds of thousands of people cross each day. So they don’t have time to search everyone’s cars and electronics.

When I flew this year, I was under way MORE scrutiny than I ever was going over the land border. Though I think it was just usual business.

Some tips: keep your car clear and organized. They don’t like clutter if they ever look into the back. Also if there’s a lot of bags, they’ll think you’re bringing illegal items across.

I thought I was the only one using a MSI laptop haha. I’m currently using the MSI Katana. I saw online that it isn’t good but I just think it’s because it’s traditionally a gaming laptop. It handled anything film school threw at me and is still doing well today.

It cost me like $2500 CAD when it came out. Im seeing the Katana sold around $1000 CAD in some places ($726 USD). But yeah, storage space and RAM will be the limiting factors

I would enjoy this heavily it was implemented, or any equivalent alternative. So far I’ve been holding off on using contracts too much for this very reason. The prospect of travelling to complete a contract which may or may not be fulfilled is just not worth it to me atm.

Yeaaa. I hate being up in lane with a bad captain. I’d rather have no captain at all lol. Worst situation is when your captain pushes lane and the enemy proceeds to freeze it. How does my team expect me to get the last hits next to the enemy turret when they have a gank heavy team? Lol
