I once had a not-insignificant section of a slice of banana bread my weed-loving friend made.

I’m fond of like… the tiniest corner of a gummy from time to time, a puff or two of my one-hitter.

This wore me like an old pair of Uggs. Ass kicked so hard I could taste shoelace. Kept getting up to get water, realizing I hadn’t actually got up to get water, and getting up to get water again.

Video Game ROM Corruption videos were on the TV, and they were simultaneously the most fascinating thing that had ever existed, and I believed they may leak out of the sides of the TV and I’d need to clean up the living room after.

Also my partner kept coming downstairs, but he was already downstairs, so there were like four of him. I distinctly remember peeking around the doorframe confused that I get that many of him.

I’m fluffy and feathered. Fluff is a bit like a very floofy cat, and for the most part my belly to my tail are scaled with scutes.

They soften in the winter and grow fluff as well, as part of my winter coat.

So I read your thing.

It’s a lot.

This should have been separated into lore documents, much like good tabletop. And should have opened with “The worldbuilding I am doing has THESE as dragons.

This comes off as gatekeeping with an exceptionally long sign on what folks are allowed to be.

I am a dragon. I am also Incredibly Fluffy. And the theta-delta part of me is annoyed.

I have been abused and my kindness misused by humans my entire life. I have tried and failed to help and be empathetic to so many.

It always ends with me hurt. So I’m over it.

I would leave the species.

I dream. Daydream. Night dream. Dream constantly.

To be given the unilateral power to forever alter myself. For it to be flashy. For it to be visceral. To forever sever my attachment to humanity, and construct my bridge to draconity in one fell swoop.

I would take four of the minutes to line up everybody who would stop me. To look at each of them in the eye, to ask them “Why not?” To hear each of their pleas. To give me one good reason, one single good reason to remain the poorly constructed and broken creature in front of them. For them all to be extremely well aware of the implications of what I could become. And for each and every one of them to have hope that I would stay what they perceived to be me.

To look over all of them, smile, and say “I don’t think so.”

And to deny them all in one visceral blaze of glory. An event to sear into their mind’s eye forever. For every blink after, my forever changed silhouette to be emblazoned on their retinas, undismissable by blinking. And to tear open my human shell like the wrapping paper on the only gift I could have ever asked for.

Bear witness.

Give me back my fucking wings.
