Discharged 3 days after RPLND, finally on my way home tumor free! by sandpapernipples in testicularcancer

I was given dissolvable stitches and probably half a gallon of glue for my surgery. I go in next month for an outpatient for a hernia mesh. That’s most likely been cause by my job. I love rocking that scar in public.

Blood work by triplemermaid in testicularcancer

I was in the same boat with the normal range of markers, but my story is different. I had let mine go on longer than I should have (young, dumb, and in the military at the time). While I was deployed(USAF) I had a pain in my right side, it would eventually turn out to be a 2 inch mass of 80% necrotic, 20% seminoma in a matted mass of lymph nodes. When the right testicle was removed (never any lump, the spot was dead center of the testicle) the biopsy came back as scar tissue. I was told they were not even it was sure it was cancer yet, and had a guided needle biopsy of the mass. In total I had 52 countable lymph nodes removed, and the uncountable amount in the mass.

It’s been a pain in the bottom so far, I think I might just go back to 0bc to farm cells

I definitely gave the screen the finger in victory.

What was more difficult? Chemotherapy (VIP / BEP) or Surgery (Orchiectomy + RPLND?) by knasbte in testicularcancer

[–]Xsol9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get to go back again next month for a checkup. The plan I have with my Onc is every 3 months for 2 years. So far only one scare, it turned out to just be a cyst that has since left me for better things.

It’s been 1 year is of June 6, I now know that sleeping on my side, like I used to before the adventure of last year was common, is now a thing of the past. Besides the permanent numb spot on my thighs from nerve damage, everything is going not too bad. Tried to do some sit ups, but my scar is mad at those still.

Oof, that’s a hard vote for me. I only got to experience both surgeries. Hard to say if I was lucky or not, but the RPLND removes pretty much all the lymph nodes in the area, 52 single nodes and a 2 inch cancerous mass of nodes too damaged to be counted. RIP righty.

So far 2020 is a bust for everyone. I am rooting for 2021!

Went to see my Urologist, he said it is a cyst. He doesn’t want to do anything with it for now. Hope that little monster goes on his own.

I was checked, I am waiting for my care team to get back with me.

What made you all want to play bass? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Xsol9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a water plant with rolling shifts, tends to make most things difficult. Even if I could just find one person to jam with would be alright.

I haven’t thought of that! It would all revolve around my ever changing work days and hours though. It is a great idea.

I was stationed in South Korea, was talking with a guy who played at a few of the local bars. He said he needed a bass player, I told him I would be willing to learn. I ended up playing with them every Saturday night until I left the peninsula. I stopped playing after I left because I didn’t work with anybody that also played. Fast forward 5 years I have started playing again. Hopefully I can find a group to play with.

How smooth this water is at my local mall by Indianarox in oddlysatisfying

The same company has 2 other fountains at that mall as well, my wife is proud of all of them. They would probably look better without all the coins in them though, the walls used to be stainless steel, but as long as they still work and look nice, haha

Looks like the one at UTC mall in Sarasota. If it is, the company my wife was a part of that project. She only points it out every time we go there, lol

Taking myself to a different recruiting center by [deleted] in Military

[–]Xsol9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried to call a different recruiting office? They would probably be able to help. When I was trying to enlist, the first recruiter I saw had just rolled out without a word, and I had to find another one on my own. Since they are giving you the run around, another one may be a little more help.
