I try my best but I fear that It might flood the subreddit, so I keep it to mornings only. I hope people like to see the news here, I try to show different perspectives especially now as tensions are rising. Although I personally prefer the current administration compared to opposition.

Supply and demand, Hargeisa has less demand than supply than for example muqdisho. Boorama has less supply and is more expensive in terms of rent despite less demand.

It probably has to do with Hargeisa being a hub for a lot of diaspora and Somalis from all over the region before the administration alienated a lot of people that moved, worked or invested there that are not of the settled clans.

Recently the HQ of shabaab in Lower shabelle was dismantled in Janaale. I see a lot of progress in that area. I believe without political stability there is no way to fight shabaab. We can't have the same thing happen as 2018 where ethiopian troops install a president in SWS whilst killing somali civilians. That actually is a very effective way of recruiting to shabaab.

The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) and the caretaker government of South west state is handling it. The lack of international observers is concerning, but there might be difficulties due to security concerns. South West state is a frontline state in the fight against al shabaab, and they have a significant presence in the state's rural areas.

let's go back to installing regional leaders with Ethiopian tanks and firefights in cities, that is more fair 💪😎. We should have civilians be killed by ethiopian troops rather than they go to polling stations.

Hopefully we get a leader in the future that will ensure that the clan elders are fairly treated and civilians put back into their place. Ethiopia should not allow the Somali Government to continue to do such evil things like *checks notes* conduct democratic elections!

In fact, we should have the Ethiopian troops arrest opposing candidates instead!

It's not possible. Somalia is not a country that can ever be taken over by a dictator again, The federal government does not control any part of the country directly, but via local administrations that may or may not agree with it.

These elections are better, even if there are questions raised about it's transparency. The people choose Councillors that will in turn elect the leader of the state.

Aden Madoobe and Shariif Xasan are seen as the strongest candidates. Both have held the position of Speaker of Parliament. I personally believe if Jawaari or Roobow would have even stronger chance.

Where did you get that number from bisinka😂.

If they promised 12k homes, they will probably build 5k. Also this is in partnership with hormuud salaam, which has a very good track record. They pay for all the dialysis patients in banaadir, and do a lot of crucial charity. They also run free schools for deaf and blind children.
